    UK model 2018 AS

Very low speed cornering, as it reaches clutch disengagement speed, the forward drive can reduce. Nothing as bad as the Gen2, these simply disconnected the clutch, a real danger of dropping it. The Gen3 will leave some torque through the clutch but it will disconnect as you come to rest. The...

    UK model 2018 AS

I'm also a UK owner of a 2018 AS, purchased new in January 2018, currently with just on 30,000 miles. Our USA cousins never had the blessings of the Gen3 YCC-S gearbox, and its operation was significantly improved from the Gen2 AE as it was designated in that market. if you are considering...

    Should black hex box remain?

No, you should have started the thread. Yes, it took some effort to get a definitive answer to your question, but that answer could help others. As for "noses out of joint", anyone who gets upset by what's going on here shouldn't be here. These stupid arguments go on all the time. And, always...

    Should black hex box remain?

Not in my owner's manuals. I counted five with the ignition off in each manual, none of them show anything on the display. Might depend on the precise model or area, these manuals are downloaded, UK 2006 & 2010, YCC-S variant.

    Should black hex box remain?

Sorry, just picking up when you said "can't", which might give the wrong impression to others. Should have used a smily.

    Should black hex box remain?

Erm, yes you can. That'a if you can bring yourself to close the throttle for the time it takes you push the switch.

    ABS Needed?

Check your rear brake lever is returning properly. A sticking lever will cause the ABS warning light to come on. Not saying that is definitely ypur problem, but easy to check, that bearing does require periodic lubrication.

    2012 FJR Maintenance catch up.

Include the rear brake pedal bearing in your lubrication, well known for sticking, which at best seems to upset the ABS system, at worst to the brake binding.

Considering a 2016 FJR, but concerned about tranny recall.

Several have mentioned tyre pressure, didn't see anyone say put it to at least 39 PSI, not the 35 or 36 that Yamaha recommend. Makes a huge difference to the feel and handling.

2006 FJR only start when jumped

Don't leave it on a trickle charger unless you mean a battery tender suitable for motorcycle batteries.

FJR Common Torque Values and Wrench Sizes

That's on my web site, still up, though in your post there's no link on the image, I've put it in my quote of your quote. In any case, This is the link.

    I dropped her again.

It is possible to allow the OEM mirrors to fold more. As I post this, the internet connection to my web site server is down. I'll post a couple of images to the forum for now, when my internet issue is resolved I will put in links to my web site with more hopefully helpful images. Two most...

    2022 side cases came in

I would try a blackening agent as sold for car black trim. It may only be polish residue that tends to leave the sort of colouring you photos depict, unless you are sure it's underlying lighter coloured plastic.

Sport VS Tour Mode - EXACTLY what is going on?

If that's about my preceding post, there's no need for any complication as to how the mode is achieved. A few comments: Anything that changes the F/A ratio would probably take emissions outside the very tight legal requirement. And why bother when you have total CPU control over the engine...

Sport VS Tour Mode - EXACTLY what is going on?

If the dyno run takes more than a couple of seconds, I wouldn't expect any significant difference between the two traces. Since all the Touring mode does is to delay the throttle opening, once the throttle opening has caught up with the throttle control, the power/torque curves will be the...
