2005 FJR engine number location

The state of minnesota, in its infinite wisdom, requires the engine number for title transfer.

So ... can anyone tell me where to find the engine number?

Rear of the motor, in front of the shock area. You'll need a mechanics mirror to read it.

FWIW, Yamaha doesn't associate engine numbers with frame numbers, though your local DMV may. Just re-read the opening post, didn't recall the mention about the state title transfer.
