Hi.
When looking for used Akrapvoic exhaust to my 07 FJR i found some for sale, but from a 2019 FJR. On Acrapovic web site there are a small difference in product number
S-Y13SO1-HT for GEN2 (2007)
S-Y13SO3-HT for GEN3 (2019)

As you can see - it is the number 1 and 3 that differs. Attached some pictures from the net 2019 to the left in each picture and 07 to the right in each picture (i do not se any difference)

So if anyone knows, i will appreciate any feedback

I've been looking and it appears (but I'mnot sure yet) that gen 1 is not the same as 2&3. maybe something about a catalytic?

For OEM exhaust, there is an additional catalyst in the Gen II vs the Gen I. (Gen III has a different exterior appearance at the back.)
For an aftermarket exhaust, I don't think that ANY of them contain a catalyst. Only matters for emissions, not performance or normal operation. Not sure what difference there might be between the two... You would probably have to speak with the manufacturer's representative.

As far as I know, ’07 is gen II and Akrapovic pipes for gen II should work fine for gen III and wise versa. To my knowledge, only difference for those two are removable baffles of ’07, those for ’19 are longer and welded on the pipes. Catalytic insert is an option and you can add it to the both of them.

Is this extra catalyst in the OEM for gen 2 in the pipe before the muffler, is it a removable piece or welded in there?

In the muffler and welded in. People have removed it by breaking it up... (Don't remember the details and have no idea why they would bother.)

Edit: I might be mis-remembering this. People have removed the catalyst from the header but I THINK they cut out the section and re-welded. Not sure about the ones in the Gen II mufflers...

Catalyst is separate parts, just inserted in the exhaust, no need to cut anything:

What is welded on Akra pipes are baffles, but only for newer years. I had two set's of Akrapovic, one without weld, just screwed, and one with weld (possible to cut weld out and remove as well. I did that).
