Hello FJR Forum Friends,

We safely and successfully completed our motorcycle loop through the Alps of Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Switzerland. Incredible friends and great scenery.

You can view Don Stanley's ride report at https://www.azbeemers.org/forum/index.php?topic=537.0 and view his pictures at https://picasaweb.google.com/beemerdons/Alps2007Ride

Welcome back, Don

I'm glad you guys had a safe trip and the recent erratic weather did not affect you. :bike:

Stef

Greetings Stef,

Thanks, it was a fantastic trip and we had great luck in avoiding really bad weather. Actually the first four days of riding the Alps was rather hot! Other than a two hour downpour from Obernai, France to Heidelberg, Germany the other rain storms were relatively mild. It was great that Timmelsjoch was open, but Passo di Stelvio was still closed with snow.

We AZ Beemers and Fast Tour Riders Group - loaded with FJR owners - are going to ride Ireland next year. We have finally found a concern in Ireland that is now renting motorcycles, formerly we would have to go to Pidcock's BMW in the English midlands to rent bikes. Maddock's BMW in Bray outside of Dublin is now renting Beemers. www.maddock.ie

Please keep your European riding trip reports and pictures coming to us. It keeps whetting my appetite to jump on the silver bird and fly over to the Continent and commence riding motos over those great roads again!

Regards, Don

Don do you have a web address for that rental place in the UK?

Richard

Richard,

www.pidcock.com

Also try Allan Jefferies BMW in Nottingham at www.jefferies.co.uk and Williams BMW in Manchester at www.williamsbikes.co.uk

Four weeks from now I'll be meeting up with you and your LA crew in Flagstaff to ride up to Park City for WFO and I can hardly wait! I rode 400 miles yesterday in 111 degree Arizona heat and I'm really ready to get out of the Valley of the Blast Furnace and into the cool mountains of Northern Utah.
