Well it is almost time for my baby to get some new shoes. Should I go with the original BT020's or is there a better tire out there? I am pretty happy with the originals. I have about 7K miles on them now. I am looking for a good blend of performance and longevity.

You will get as many different opinions as there are responders to your question.

I use Pirelli Diablo Strada 'E' spec tires and like them a lot. They are similar to the BT-020 yours came stock with, but a bit stickier.

Some like the BT-021s

Don't believe they make the BT020 anymore, just the 021. I am using the 021 but think I liked the 020 better.

Found a screw in my rear (tire that is) last Friday so I ordered a new set of B021's from SWMOTO tires. I'm replacing Avon Storms with 10K on them. I have no complaints about the Avons, just thought I would try something different. I definately will not by Metzler's which were the stock OEM's. I didn't like them at all.

Ten grand on a rear? Not bad.....hope I get the same on my storms. I love these threads.....more info then you can point a stick at.

Hey Grandma! How about a little search, bud. Making everybody type their opinions twice is rude, me thinks!

Thanks for the info everybody. Looks like I have some research to do.

Is it strange that my front is wearing quicker than my rear? Maybe I'm just not gassing it enough. Pun intended.

Didn't mean to be rude there Bruno. I did a couple of searches for tires in the forum, but do you realize how many results I would have had to sift through? I was hoping some of the members could help narrow it down a little, and they did (special thanks to those who were helpful).

On my 3rd. set bridgestones did not like them at all . got 7k out of them

Pilot roads Very nice tire would by them again . got 11k out of them

Diablo strada very nice tire a notch better then the roads but i can not talk

about milage yet there on the bike .does not look like any where near 10 k

I have some Continental Road Attacks on my other bike and think they are great. Mind you it's an SV650 and can no way be compared to the FJR. BMW have seen fit to use them as OEM tires on the latest R1200RT and will be using them on the R1100S, R1150R and K1200RS. I'm including some links to reviews which swayed me towards purchasing them for my SV. Their "C" model is built for larger heavier sport tourers such as the BMW and FJR. They are supposed to be very sticky, wear very well and adhere well in the wet. Sounds like PR BS I know but the reviews seem to agree. Check them out.

Hmmm.... Obviously I haven't figured out how to attach a link to a post here. Either check these out on your own or let me know how to attach a link. Newbie here.

Seems the links work after all. The Canyon Chasers one is the best.

You'll get more opinions here than there are brands of tires. I started off with Metzelers Z4's ( my OEM for the 05). Just saw to many delamination failures posted on the web. I didn't have a big problem with them personally.

Switched to Michelin Pilot Roads. Road 500 miles from Denver to Salinas, KS in an absolute downpour and became a believer. Sticky yet relatively long life tire ( 7K average). I'm anxious to try out the new Pilot Road 2's.
