Last year, at the urging of many on this forum, I released the center throttle spring on my FJR. I believe it helped. This year I cleaned and lubed the throttle tube. ( I was installing a G2 throttle tube but that's not relevant here. ) Upon re-assembly, the throttle would not snap back to the stop. At first I thought the tube was binding, but it had spun smoothly during fitting, prior to final assemby. I thought about this for a moment then checked the slack or better yet the "tension" of the throttle cables and found them to be too tight. As soon as I loosened the adjuster ( near the grip ) the throttle "snapped" back just like you would expect it to. Recently, while I doing some other work on the bike ( I try to get as much done as possible whenever the bodywork is off ) I took a look at the throttle spring as noticed it has no tension on it at all. My advice: clean & lube your throttle tube and check your cable tension. Mine has been working fine so far this year. I pay particular attention to this since I installed the Audiovox CC.
