Free app and photo storage with my Amazon Prime account. Thinking of investigating as my Smugmug account is needing renewal. Thoughts?

Check their (C) protections. I know SmuygMug's and they leave your stuff to you (which is why it costs). Does Amazon repurpose them (to help with [facial recognition, etc.])? Can they do as they will to stuff you upload? Do they index or otherwise "look" at your content? They make $ off it or it'd cost.

For a few $$ a year, you can get a web space and upload your stuff there and share to your heart's content... and post (C) notices to hell-and-back as you see fit. I would avoid using anything from GoDaddy. They have been known to lock your domain registration and keep you from moving it to another host; leaving it locked passed its renewal date, then release it at some unfathomable delay only to see it snapped up by squatters (rumors of which the squatters are often former GoDaddy employees).

Disclaimer: I don't know any of these sites.

You are (sort of) paying for it with Amazon Prime.

I wasn't aware that you could host photos there.  I will be interested in whatever you find out about it.  Photo hosting, for me, is a matter of convenience for posting relatively few images to internet forums.  It would never be my primary backup for all of my digital photos.  Too easy to have it all go away or get ransomed.
