Looked down while riding and noticed that the nuetral light was flickering. I'm assuming that I just got bit by the ground bug.

The neutral light is (supposed to be) turned on by a ground coming through the neutral switch.
The typical spider bite problem is a loss of continuity to ground through the messed up spider, so really it is just the opposite situation electrically.
You may just have a chafed bit of wire insulation somewhere, putting the ground on that line, or it could be that the neutral switch itself is going bad.
