This might be a better option for you, unless you are looking for aesthetics over function. This offers more support for the rear sub frame if you plan to put more than 13lbs on the rear rack.

Thanks but I want to keep the lines of the bike. I am using a Smuggler trunk and just want the grab bar to match the contours.

That is the OEM pillion "grab handles" and mounting surface for the OEM topcase. Some people have removed them to accommodate an aftermarket mounting bracket such as the Givi SR357 (offers better support for topcase and subframe). Perhaps the original was lost or broken...
