How to make a Post/New thread.

1. Look at the index of Categories/forums and find the one that best fits your post. Click on that title.

2. Once that Category has opened you will see the top line that appears empty except for the light typed words "Thread Title"

1635438156235.png

3. Click in that area and put your title. Once you click in that box the message area box will open for you.

(the boxed 3 dots is what you will need to click to get more operational icons.)

4. Once you have the title and message filled in you will see the Post Thread button on the lower right side of message area.

5. Once you have clicked on the Post Thread button, you will have created a new thread and members can reply to you with comments and help.

ALTERNATELY:

1. There is a POST THREAD button on the top right of the forum. You can be in a forum and click on that to start a new thread.

This opens the Thread Title and Message boxes.

2. Fill in as above, and click on the Post Thread button.

CONVERSATIONS (what PMs are called on this software)

There are two ways to start a Conversation (PM) with another members.

1. Click on their avatar that shows to the left of a post and at the bottom of that information box you will see "Start Conversation"

2. When you do it in this manner the TO name is filled in on the Conversation (PM) box.

3. From here you fill in a title and message you will need to Start Conversation. You can see the buttons at the bottom of the Conversation (PM). The Attach files and video buttons work in the Conversations. I have that one area highlighted due to check that and send and you will NOT get an answer. I would say don't do it. Someone would need to start a new conversation to send you the reply.

When you are finished with a Conversation (PM) and want to "delete" it. Well, this is a bit different. You can leave the conversation and not see it. When leaving it you can mark it where you will see it if there is a new answer, or you will not see it.

Once you have clicked that bottom Leave, you will not see it in your Conversation/PM queue.

After all parties of the Conversation/PM have left the conversation that is when the s/w considers it deleted.

WATCH a forum or thread.

When you find a forum you want to get alerts or alert/emails for you can go to the top of the forum or thread, far right on the main blue bar for the word WATCH. This is similar to subscribing. And depending on how you have the watch set, you will get alerts or alerts/emails when something new is added.

1635446221838.png (I have this forum watched, so it is showing me unwatch if I want to stop.)

The alert or alert/email can be set in Preferences. It is below the setting to disable ads.

Take a look and give the settings a try.

BOOKMARKS. This is for posts you want to keep up with. Maybe make a small note to yourself.

When you are looking at a post, look in the top right corner for the bookmarker icon.

1635447895956.png

When you click on that, you will get this so you can make a note about it,

1635447939357.png

1635447984192.png

Now I will Save.

Now you'll want to find those special posts. Click on your name again and to the right of your name is Bookmarks. Click on that.

1635448047854.png

After clicking on Bookmarks

1635448143489.png

You will see the thread title, and can filter by the label if you have different topics you have bookmarked.

You can click on the title to go directly to the bookmarked post.

The gear on the right with the arrow is a drop down menu.

That's how bookmarks work.

Some nice bells and whistles in this software and your mini-tutorials are appreciated. The photo hosting is a really big deal for some members and this software makes it easy. I hope server space and bandwidth don't become issues!

I'll echo the same thing. The mini-tutorials are very helpful. Might be worth pinning them in the sub-forum so they are easy for users to find.

@RossKean We do have enough room and bandwidth. So please feel free to share your photos. And we do like them on the forum so they can stay with the post. In the past there have been photo hosting companies that just stop being, or start charging an arm and a leg to post on 3rd party place (like a forum). So, if uploaded directly the images stay with the post.
