Back on the topic of the first pseudo-hijack... IPB and board software issues.

LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THERE IS A FREEZE ON FORUM MODIFICATIONS UNTIL SOME TIME AFTER THE END OF THE IRON BUTT RALLY

Matt's request for additional information is definitely important but there are far too many Admins involved in different aspects of the IBR to have them distracted with change-related forum issues. Those of us armchairing will continue to MODERATE as needed but changing critical systems at 5pm on a Friday is simply bad mojo.

Any issues will need to be worked around from the end-user/member side of things until at least a couple of weeks after the finish (and maybe longer) for participants to recover, get their own houses back in order, then have time to focus on core changes. For discussion purposes, just consider July as a non-starter for such things.

Wow, pretty women, cool bikes and lots of computer jibberish! What's not to like about this thread?

Here are a few of the 66 pictures I have of me on the track ... I have to say it looks pretty sedate, compared to how it felt !

Wait til your next track day. Now that you won't have to learn the track, you'll be able to concentrate more on the riding skills and how the bike feels with all of the different inputs coming at you to interpret. The smile factor will go way up.

I believe mike Sullivan still does a women's only school once or twice a year. He is a legend in the road racing community around here.

Very nice photos. Looks like you were booking along at a pretty good clip.

Photos or videos taken of me while riding are always "disappointing" to see. It always felt faster than what is looks like in the photos or video.

While I am starting to join the ranks of the frustrated and have been limiting my participation here, I applaud this measure.
I know how much of my time and energy gets used up during preparation for my annual "One Big Motorcycle Trip a Year". It takes up family time, vehicle maintenance time, home maintenance time, it even eats into my focus on the job. This lasts for at least two months prior to the trip. Then when I return there are pictures to deal with, Ride Reports to type and post (that was my shot by the way!), catching up with the wife and son, getting caught back up on everything I neglected for the previous two months. I cannot imagine what is involved in preparing for a life-changing event like the IBR.

I wish the best of luck to our members participating this year. Then, hopefully, maybe, we can fix this thrice accursed software issue!

I just learned that even paid IPB wonks took our money and didn't fix anything. That's the reason that Matt is asking for such specific skill sets.

September 23rd !!!

Nels just dropped off my bike ( at 10:05 PM on a Friday !)

Here is the new (red) vs old (blue) dyno chart. You can still see where the VTEC is kicking in, but its a lot smoother, and the fueling is now spot on the whole range.

I've only ridden the bike around the block (its late and dark and the lights are still taped up from the track ...) but I can already say that it is a different bike - smooth and willing ... no noticeable lurch

While we were chatting, Nels complemented me on the tire scrub I'd achieved at the track - apparently my tires had been quite the talking point among the guys who hand out at his dyno shop. Nels had taken a lot of pride in informing them that the tires had been scrubbed in by a 54 year old soon-to-be grandmother ... Made my day too !
