I can wear my Sidi motorcycle boots to kick you in the butt, if you would like....;-)

Friday what time, etc? I may have to leave straight from work depending on time and traffic. Friday's not fun thru LA. Is everyone caging it or what?

I'm hoping for arriving into LA around 6PM with dinner around 7PM-ish. We'll be coming down 101 through Santa Barbara. Built into the plan is a couple of hours in Santa Barbara with my son who's at UCSB.

My riding partner can't leave his house till 7:30 AM (for this I would like to get up and leave earlier), and on top of that is shy on his Concorse about lane splitting in rush-hour traffic, which is just when we hit LA. I already served notice that I am constitutionally incapable of sitting in rush-hour traffic behind cars and will meet him at the motel if necessary. This already happened once before on trip to LA(hanging back with him in traffic because he wouldn't split), and it ain't gonna happen again. Hell, I can't ride dirt, or go around a track particularly fast, or change out a shock on my own, but lane splitting is one skill I do have.

Rich made a restaurant suggestion above I believe.

Ok Hans lets get this nailed down.....Firstly think we can do better than Rudy's (plus it will be very busy with the car guys). there are a lot of nice restaurants in the immediate area, what do you fancy?

Jill are you gonna come up?

who else is gonna make it?

Let me know so I can make reservations.

Richard changed it up here. So now I'm confused (which is easy to do) where we're meeting and time.
I'm good with Ruby's, 50's style diner and food.

Thanks, Blue. I missed Richard's post about nailing me, or whatever that was...

I'm omnivorous, so type of food is not an issue, much. I think for me the operative word is "reasonably priced." I'll be on a budget this trip, as the kids are back in college and lots of dough is changing hands right now.

Something close to the Sea Sprite would be good so I can maybe walk. Otherwise I'd probably have to take a cab.

Since my arrival time is up in the air, and I don't want to worry about standing people up, maybe y'all should make a plan to be somewhere at 7, and I'll shoot for being there then or as quick as I can get there.

Is this more of what you'd call a plan or more like a cluster-f**k?

Ok so heres the deal, Ruby's will work for Food and right next door there is a bar called On the Rocks, how about we meet at On the Rocks at 6.30 ( I will be there earlier talking to the car guys) for drinks while wait for Hans then go to Ruby's to eat then back to the bar for my libations.......

Will that cover all the bases? (cheap food and booze)

Hans I might ride up to meet you and give you buddy some Lane sharing pointers.....

It'd be great to see you in Santa Barbara, Richard. Here's the schedule so far as I know it: Meet my buddy on Tully Rd in San Jose (just off 101) between 9 and 9:30, hopefully closer to 9. Head to Santa Barbara for lunch with my son and see his new apartment. Hope to get there by 1:30. Couple hours max in Santa Barbara, head to LA. 3:30.... No problem your hanging with us and having lunch, etc., in SB. You can give me a lesson in lane sharing, though I think you teach the advanced-skills class.
