Can you believe it....xmas day here and it's about 10C with the occasional small hail and rain with brief periods of sunshine! Oh Well Thursday and Friday last week were 35C ...Still I managed to cook the BBQ amongst it all!

A Christmas, a Christmas of last

That is my fear as I look at the past.

All the Christmas mornings with bikes for me

and dolls for sister, the pictures all show how happy were we.

Time has grown long, and children are now few

Christmas is no longer quite as new.

So how do you handle a Christmas of last

for one in your family who is expected to pass?

He made all your childhood Christmas' magical and true

and now all he has left is his family of you.

There are no more Santa's to bring your wishes

of many more years of my father's great riches.

Those riches of life, and how it should be lived,

loving your neighbor and sharing your bread.

All these years a father has led

his son down this road where life must now end.

So how do I face tomorrow, this Christmas of last,

like those Christmas Eve's of childhood past?

There will be little sleep tonight once again,

but for the same reason, apprehension I guess.
