New condition for handlebars full right causing ABS light to come on

I have discovered a new condition under which the ABS light comes on and a buzzing like the ABS pump begins when the handlebars are pushed all the way to the right. I started at the front ABS sensor but it was clean and free of corrosion. I tried pushing and pulling on cables on the right side of the handlebars to initiate or stop the symptom. But I noticed that full right pushes the handlebar controls into my soft tank bag. The bag surface just touches the starter button before it gives. This is what causes the problem. No tank bag, no symptom.
