My friend & I own a 2004 Fjr. The bike already has the 1 inch handlebar risers but it's still not comfortable for me. I want them higher. I've seen where you can put a new higher rise handlebar & cable setup but I can't find it on the internet. I'd like something maybe 2 inches higher than with the current handlebar risers. Can anyone help me out here?

Use the search term:
+stacked+risers
for a bunch of hits. If that is too many to weed through, include Member Patriot in the search where it allows to search for posts by a specific member. He did stacked risers on his Gen I.

Are you especially tall? I'm 6'3" and found a simple 1" GenMar riser (Gen II FJR) to work well for me. Sometimes it just takes some time to train your body for a new bike or different riding position. I don't know how long you have had the bike but would suggest anyone should put a few thousand miles on the machine before making any changes to ergonomics.

Careful about trying to turn the Sport-Tourer into a HD Bagger with Ape Hangers. It's a different riding position that you should give a few months for you to adjust.

You could replace the 1" with 2" risers from a couple of different manufacturers. Might need to increase some cable lengths however. My previous one had a one inch set and I preferred that position to the stock one, like on my current 2019. Just haven't; ordered a set yet. With the 1" you don't need to change any cables I believe.

I've been told to ride it 1000 miles or more before changing it all to pieces.

On my 2003 I thought the bars were too narrow, the seat was too hard, the screen was too small, and the bike was too fast!

After 1000 miles or so ... I still thought the seat was too hard and got a custom seat. Now everything works perfect! YMMV

Hi, Welcome aboard, don't know much about it as didn't have any issue related to the handlebar, the stock handlebar is just comfortable for me.
