Looking to do a trip through Ny. and north first week in Sept., I do have a plan on my streets and trips but can use help with any good roads you my know that way, my start is Boyertown Pa,,, Thanks for any help. Peter

Not exactly what you asked for, but here is a quick stab at what I think you are asking for. At least it's a start point for a conversation.
For the NY section you could do a quick Finger Lakes tour, then off to the Adirondacks. Then it's the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of NH.
Friday night - ride to Watkins Glen, taking route 15 (parts of it are quite scenic, others not)
Saturday - AM tour Watkins Glen
PM a modest wine tour of the Finger Lakes
finish in Syracuse, area
time permitting visit the Glenn Curtis museum in Hammondpsort, NY
Sunday - ride to the adirondacks region, enjoy pauses in Saranac and Tupper Lake
arrive in Lake Placid, maybe catch a glimps of the ski jumps, a cool sight
Monday - Ride to the top of Whiteface Mountain
ride the Adirondacks some more
cross to Burlington, VT by the ferry
Tuesday - AM Ben and Jerry's tour
PM smuggler's notch
Wednesday - ride to moultonborough, nh
tour Castle in the Clouds or some such
Thursday - help from the vermonters, plenty to do!
Friday - ride the white mountains
take route 91, do some stops and some hiking
Saturday - head home
