So, I woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep. The morning paper hasn't arrived yet and I was doodling around.

For some reason I started wondering how much it would cost to replace all of the painted plastic parts on my bike and, with the help of the Yamaha web site and ronayers, I came up with a list of all of the colored plastic parts and the price (without shipping) that I could order it all for.

Having done this, I figured why not post it for the membership? Just in case. You never know. The '06 was the nicest color ever, so perhaps someone might want to consider a change?

I have included the emblems that would be needed, but NOT the various tiny rubber bits and such, with the exception of the lower cowlings, glove box, saddlebags and fuel tank (which seem to be only sold as assemblies).

It ain't cheap. The total is $4,572.44 - and that's with a discount and unshipped!!.

OK, you can always forget about the filler plates and such, but even so, it explains why a low side with only cosmetic damage can result in a bike being scrapped!!

It is organised as a comma delimited set of fields, defined in the header. so you can cut and paste the text into a text fle and import it into Excel or whatever spreadsheet you choose to use as a csv file. You will need to reformat the display attributes to pretty it up if you do capture it, as they are lost in the process..

Also, I wonder about some of the part numbers - those that end in P1 specifically - I suspect that they could be wrongly coded on Yamaha's web site, since P2 seems to be the code for the Deep Purple used in the US this model year.

Bramfrank ~ Thanks for all your hard work researching the parts!

I don't want to seem like a smart-ass, but you could have saved yourself a ton of effort and time by just calling Gary McCoy at Mondak Motorsports... When I was trying to get the close out pieces where the side cases mount, I discovered that the MamaYama site is incorrect in many part numbers, including the ones I wanted.

Gary was familiar with the problem and saved me ordering the wrong numbers and then having the hassle of having to return them (on my dime), to correct Yamaha's screw-up.

Plus, his prices beat Bike Bandit and the others all to pieces... What's not to like? Be sure to talk only to Gary for the best prices. Mention the forum when you call.

I'll email the spreadsheet to Gary and wait for his response (since I'm not in a hurry). He'll probably have the response back in a day.

Also, I wonder if there are different part numbers depending on the year (color) and such????

Interesting;

Note that the part numbers do vary by color . . . beside that the pricing should be right.

Note that the items for which 2 are required were not extended on your spreadsheet, so while the total is lower, it isn't quite that much lower.

Also, if you were planning on doing it this month, ronayers has free shipping on orders over (I think it was) $149. Then again, this was just an intellectual exercise.

Exactly why I went and bought another bike rather than fixing my old one, even though it was very repairable. I plan to part it out instead.

Link works fine for me, and copy/paste the original BramFrank compilation to Notepad and save as "prices.csv" imports into Excel like a champ!

Great list and not so great prices. Gary is no longer there and with him went this pricing list.

FYI the correct phone number is 866 433-6635 Toll Free.

Wow dude, this was an old thread. Not only is Gary long gone but I guarantee parts prices have gone up in general. I have also discovered another disturbing trend - as the age of your FJR rises, eventually parts get signifcanlty more expensive.

2004 parts are much more expensive than 2009 parts. Bummer.
