What's your route on the way out?
Big John recommended a scenic northerly route through Spearfish and Red Lodge. This would certainly be great riding, but I've got two days to cover 1900 miles, and I'm not Pathfinder, so it may be I-80 to SLC, then I-84 to 20 near Ontario. Still examining options, though.

That will get the tires flat in the middle but when you are done with Or. and Ca. twisty roads they will be round again

Festar and I did this on the way to Rays several years ago (2014 i recall). It is one of the finest roads I've ridden in Oregon. There is little traffic. We had a few miles of well maintained gravel at the Burns end. Nothing to be scared of, and the rest of the road made it all worthwhile.

MacKenzie Pass (SR242) between Sisters and Belknap Springs is a very nice ride also. Beautiful road through the lava flows.... You could probably link these two together and make it a very nice few hours
