I've been curious about roads that look "refreshened", but not quite paved.  In the past, have seen break-down lanes sealed, but didn't realize that they could do it to travel lanes.  And no, this isn't the old fashioned asphalt and sand version of chip sealing.  Story says that it is "fog sealing".  Must be extremely fast curing, but apparently placed too thick on some roads.  Beware.

If you've noticed the roads that look "sealed" but not quite paved. Now I know.

Note this news>> The Maine Department of Transportation has put a statewide halt on the use of a protective road sealant following questions about its use on a stretch of Route 225 in Rome where several motor vehicle crashes happened in recent months.
