Well, OK, it makes we wonder...

are the "blacked out" '09's black on the inside too...

rims, inside of the engine...seems like an easy, consistent jump

well, maybe, the inside of the '08's should be checked too

Diesel oil is designed to suspend the by-products of combustion, that is why it darkens so soon. No problem especially when compared to a diesel truck oil change. It is as black as a tire when changed.
