Silent's Half Baked Bread Run

I was sitting in a Mercedes computer class near the San Francisco Airport. My cell phone rings and its JB calling to tell me about a ride with Silent today. Well ,I am stuck in a boring class about fiber optic networks on Mercedes Benz cars. It's a two day class and I just can't get away, but maybe after lunch things will change.

So I call Silent at the lunch break and get directions to Road Riders in San Jose and blast down the freeway to meet them. I pulled into Road Riders right after JB and Silent did. After a short tour around the store and JB getting a new tire guage, (some story about it being defective and smashing it against a wall) we head out on the Highway.

We pick up highway 9 at Monte Sereno and cruise by the billion dollar bay area homes. Then north on Skyline, (Hwy 35) toward Alices and then take Alpine road. We then headed west on Pescadero road stopping in Pescadero at a bakery that sells partialy cooked bread.(Half Baked Bread) We bought some bread for dinner later and headed out to Hwy 1 at Pescadero Beach. It was a good day to go for a ride B) and an even better day for getting to ride with friends on some of the best motorcycle roads Kalifornia has to offer!

What a fabulous day for a motorcycle ride, and what fabulous roads--among the best I've ever ridden!

This ride began with my PM'ing Silent this morning to say "What's the plan?" in response to a comment he made in some thread about going on a bread run to Pescadero. He PM'd right back with a sketched-out ride plan. I cleared it with Fang, then called the third of Los Tres Amigos, Farting Hycle, who answered the phone by whispering, "just a minute."

Seems Hycle was at the SF Airport or close by learning how to make BMW keys or some such thing. I told him the plan was to meet Silent in San Jose at 12:30, then head toward the coastal twisties, which was right near where he was. He said he'd see, and I suited up and blasted down to meet Silent. He's been good about always coming up to Hycle's and my patch, so it was good to return the favor for a change. Man, was it worth it!

When I met up with Silent an hour later, he had heard from Hycle, who would meet us at Motorcycle Accessories in San Jose, which I'd never been to but has been around forever apparently. Anyway, Silent and I headed over there, and Hycle pulled in five minutes after us.
