Haha, well dang it.... oh well. I guess Ill stick it out with the R-Gaza guards. Just gotta wait for them to get here.

Another vote for the T-Rex Racing guards. I will agree with Bugs, the instructions could be slightly better. Said instructions make complete sense...after you figure out what to do!

Those guards are not yours!

That FJR is the beautiful red, not your -worst FJR color ever made- FUGLY grey!

I also went the R-Gaza route last year after email exchange wtih T-Rex customer service saying that at the time they didn't offer luggage guards for Gen II and seemed to be looking for test sleds.

Hi,

Unfortunately, our luggage guards for the FJR are only compatible from the 2013 model and on. Any chance of you residing in or around the Dallas/Fort Worth area?

Your business is appreciated.

Thanks,

Seems things have changed.

I received the R-Gaza's last week, about a month after ordering. Ebay stated it'd be April 29th before I would see them. I guess that makes them "early".

I was finishing up my fluid changes and getting my new tires mounted and mounted the saddle bag guards. I haven't yet mounted the cages. I was dismounting my front wheel when I saw that I may have a weeping fork seal. Dang it. Going to try to use a thin piece of plastic to see if there is some debris causing the leak.

Anywho, just a few quick pictures of the guards. They look pretty good and they feel very sturdy.

I will update when I get the cages on also.

I am contemplating going to a Gen III and looking at cages/sliders. I have CC on my '09A and like them, but it appears they are either no longer in business or no longer selling the cages? So used CC or new T-Rex seems to be the solution. The rear bag CC guards would fit the new bike.

EDIT: I see a third choice - R-Gaza. They do look cleaner design vs the T-Rex, but of course dunno about quality which would be more important. If I read the above posts correctly, Dunesgirl and Albie538 went with R-Gaza? How do you like them?

Just mounted R-Gaza Engine Guards, the left on was perfekt but the right one was 5 mm short on one of the attachment points, a file and 5 min later it did fit.

Then one of the crash bobbins was not threaded, but that wasa minor issue.

Finally I´ve got my engine guards an highway pegs mounted!

I had the same issue, I could not believe that there were no threads but was able to get around it. I had this image of a Russian guy with a bottle of Vodka and no teeth laughing as he pictured us looking in disbelief that there were no threads on the bolt.

Anyway I thought I would be settling for second best with the Gaza bars since it is about the only choice but really like them compared to the others that were out there. I like the built in sliders and just the shape of them in general. Installation was a six pack job but one of those where if I did it a second time it would be much easier.

I thought about putting some pegs on but was worried they would scrape on the predominately twisty roads we have in my area. Any issues with that? Thanks
