Striped threads on oil drain

Well I screwed up and used a torque wrench on the oil plug and striped out the threads.I was planning on leaving next weekend for a two week trip to california so I need to get it fixed.Can I tap it and put in the next size up bolt in?Any issues with doin that?

SOme have used a "heli-coil" and there are other options. IIRC, using the next size plug has been done, also.
