I've been wrenching on mechanical things ever since I was a kid. But, I've never stripped so many threads till I got into motorcycles with aluminum frames. There hasn't been that many really but a few is too many in my books. I have been putting anti-sieze on bolts that I remove and reinstall on occasion just to make it easier on the metal surfaces but that lubrication makes thread stripping even easier. And you can't torque to spec if you have any type of lube on the bits in question. And my natural super human strength makes things even worse (read; not too bright and usually tightens more than required)
So just a word of warning to the new backyard mechanics out there....this stuff aint steel. :clapping:
