I find it interesting how the diagrams and connectors differ between the Gen II and Gen III bikes. Apparently the diagrams are also different between the 2008 - 2012 and 2013+ bikes too, although I don't have access to a high resolution of those. I have a FSM for my '06, and the Haynes manual that covers all models, but the Haynes manual does not go into the level of detail the FSM does with connectors and pin positions. I am glad that you were able to make a harness for your 2016 work. The Gen II harnesses we made are much simpler to assemble and install for the STS Module (somewhat less expensive too). To start with, the Gen II connectors are not "sealed", so the terminal pins easily pop into position just by pushing them into their spots with free hand. Then, the wiring options in the 13-pin connector for Gen II also included a "power" and "ground" leads that we were able to tap into, so we did not have to search for another power and ground source for the STS module itself. The installation location is also a lot more accessible on the Gen II. It seems that you had to mount the STS module quite some way from the connections as there is not much room in the nose piece to mount the STS module the correct (horizontal - forward) way instructed. Great job, and thanks for the info again. Very interesting.

Sincerely,

RiderJoe
Hi @Fishin VA Thank you for the information.
