I am planning on stopping by for a meet and greet and thank Ray for his help with the fork
seal replacement. I'll arrive Friday afternoon and stay at a local hotel.
I'm assuming you'll send directions?

the saying "the husband or wife is always the last to know" is so true.. I just mentioned to my wife AGAIN about going to ohio 10/4-10/6..and she says that she doesnt remember me mentioning it and that we have a wedding on the 6th..FML..thxs for the invite and maybe a raincheck for 2025

Bummer - hopefully we'll see ya next time 'round!

And who would schedule their wedding the weekend of our Tech Day, anyway?

So…
I’ve reviewed your updated attendance post and it appears we’ve only one valve check on the schedule. Seeing as I took a slot on center stage last year, I’m somewhat relieved my new-to-me 2014 only has 17k miles on it and isn’t ready for such invasive surgery. However, I am due for plugs so here’s what I’m thinking:

•Change plugs
•Brake/clutch fluid replacement and bleed
•Lubricate various pivot points
•Observe (read: try not to get in the way) another valve check
•Inquire about what kind of project it’ll be to service the front forks on my ES when the time comes including how to discern when that time has come
•Maybe remove my PAIR system if Wayne shows up with cover plates? (I don’t know his name on the forum 😕)

I may need to be in Middletown, OH earlier in the day Friday so I’ll probably show up that evening (in time for dinner out with the gang?) and stay in a hotel before making a nuisance of myself Saturday.

Sounds good - see ya Friday!

I made a couple of updates to the Attendance post.

It's a good thing that we didn't have Tech Day this past weekend - the driveway has been covered with wet leaves since Friday.

I thought I'd stop by on either Friday afternoon/evening or Saturday morning. Since I'm going to be in your neighborhood...(ok, the state of Ohio anyway). My bike is ready for a throttle body sync but I won't have any tools with me. That might be something that could possibly take longer than I have time but, if anyone knows better, speak now. BTW: how do I get directions?

PM coming...

Tech Day XXVII is up and running. Ish.

I got a call from FJRPittsburgh before I really had things ready to go: "Am I too early?" My response, "No but I don't even have the flag up up yet!"

F'n retired guys.

So I got the flag up.

And he rolled in a few minutes later.

Time for the first Tech Day Beer! Hooray Tech Day Beer!
IMG_9843-X3.jpg

After I got the garage setup for Tech Day, extrememarine rolled in.
IMG_9846-X3.jpg

A little while later, the Grand Canadian Invasion Farce rolled in.
IMG_9848-X3.jpg

With authentic supplies! You know - important stuff.
IMG_9849-X3.jpg

RaYzerman modeled his spiffy new whatchamacallit.
IMG_9850-X3.jpg

Another FJR - Ryan rolled in after a looooong work week for him.
IMG_9852-X3.jpg

And another - Kevin (vzhq16) made it - that dude has some AWESOME aux lights going on!
IMG_9855-X3.jpg

Work commenced - a TBS on Kevin's INCREDIBLY clean '16.
IMG_9856-X3.jpg

Meanwhile, HilltownDave and his lovely bride came by and there was some chatting going on with him and Ryan.

A few bikes in the driveway.
IMG_9860-X3.jpg

A rather rare thing on Friday at Tech Day - no bikes in the garage getting ripped apart.
IMG_9861-X3.jpg

But that wouldn't last - eventually the Michiganders made it in safe and sound. (Or, to put it another way, without any fresh venison.)

It took roughly 37 1/2 seconds for TimDOG's bike to go from this...

To this...

To this.

The only rider we were looking for who didn't show up is Gene Weygandt. As of August 20, he wanted to do a valve check. Haven't heard a word. Hope he's OK.

More to come.
