Drudging up an old thread... Just got the feeger out of the shop..again! Guess what was wrong...you got it; ANOTHER bad TPS! Dealer says it was out of warranty so I spent a week fighting with Yamaha corporate to have them cover under warranty. Corporate called back stating they would cover the part but not labor. They claim the TPS was of the newer model and did not qualify for the recall, as well, it is 6 months beyond warranty (new part on my bike for just over 1 year). I explained that this part has been failing intermittently ever since it was installed, but every time I brought it back, the dealer could find nothing wrong with it and said it only needed to be adjusted. I asked corporate for my original TPS back as it lasted longer than the 'new and improved' TPS. They stopped returning my calls and would not allow me to speak with their manager, Virgel. (sp?) How is it that a recalled part last's longer than the new and improved version, but when the new one fails in less than a year's time, corporate does not feel obligated to support their customer? As my student's like to say, "I'm feeling some type of way" about customer service and doing the right thing! Anybody else have their 'new and improved' TPS fail on them?
