The 11th annual Vintage Motorcycle Swap Meet is sponsored by the Washington Vintage Motorcyclists Club on Saturday, April 26 at the Skagit County Fairgrounds in Mount Vernon, WA. It's a one-day event open to the public at 8 a.m. Pedestrian admission is $2; parking $5 per carload. The meet will be held concurrent with the swap meet sponsored by the North Cascade Street Rod Association, featuring vintage motorcycles, cars, trucks, parts, and accessories. The two events fill the fairground complex.

I used to go every year. lots of crap and some good stuff also. My friend Alex is going to be there with his electric start Matchless trying to sell the conversion.

Not to far from home, I swing up every once in awhile.

Last year someone rode a Egli Vincent up in the rain from Oregon, never know what you may see.

Like Ray said, lots of crap and some good stuff. Car stuff to.

Working and on-call...

Dear Seattle Slugmuffins: Keep your drunken eyes peeled for any BMW R60/2's on sale, as you derelicts stumble around the Skagit County Fairgrounds.

Papa Chuy Viejo is on the hunt for another R60/2, 35 years after he sold his first one. BikerGeek99 is checking out a R60/2 US in Columbus, OH on 4/26.

The US model in Columbus is the one Andy BG99 is checking out tomorrow, the Chicago Earles Forker is too rich for my blood at $14.5K; I want one, but $10K is my limit! Kevin, I don't have Niehart's millions! If I had Dave Black's money, I would just rake mi Dinero up into a small pile in my front yard and burn it ese! jes' sayin' and nuff said, eh!

Don, maybe you should look at this one up in Tacoma Wa. I know not an R-60 but an R-50 with a hack might be the perfect fit for an old geezer like you!

No Panman, it must be an R-60. I had many BMW Vintage friends with the R-50 and they are truly gutless going down the road. An AZ Beemers Club Member currently has a cherry R50 for sale and I test rode it, but it is still as weak and down on power as I remember them from 35 years ago. Four horsepower may not seem like much, but that 4hp difference makes a world of difference out on the road. I considered turning my Friend Al's R50 into the legendary R50S, but the parts are $$$$ and Not Available!

===========================================================================================================

The stroke of the R50 is different than the R60 (68mm vs. 72mm) so I don't know what you'll end up with-probably an abortion! And R50S parts (high-compression pistons, different heads and valves) are about as gold-plated a bunch of parts as you'll ever find. The R50S also wasn't the most reliable of the old twins, either. Want to keep up with the R60's? Buy an R60! (Or an R90S, and blow their tank badges off!)

Hi Dave, what would it take to bring a R50/2 up from its 26 horsepower to the 30 hp of the R60/2? What would it take to bring it up to the 35 hp of the legendary R50S?

Al Kuenn - Dtrux https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-R-Series-/171307846251? is selling off his R50/2, but I don't want Brian Boles or Don Carver to be leaving me behind on the freeway with their R60/2's! How expensive is it to get 4 extra horsepower out of a R50/2? How expensive is it to get 9 extra horsepower out of a R50/2?

1959, that dike road is fun. Good to see you again.

Saw a few other FJR's and owners there and a lot of very cool older iron. Hudson, there were 3 very good looking Matchless.

Missed seeing my friend, Panman.

103 Miles round trip that is I was able to turn into 232 miles of curvy roads. Dang I love this bike!

JimieJimie, looked for a chain guard for your BSA B50T Victor but no luck.

I went with Dave / Hudson, rained a lot when we got there then stopped later, saw a few FJR guys there.
