WCG 2023 - June 15-18, 2023

After weeks and hours of emails and phone calls and every hotel asking me to sign a contract and put my personal credit card down for any rooms that wouldn't be booked on the room block, I've decided that the easiest thing to do is choose a hotel and let y'all make your own reservations.

Here is the hotel info where I've booked for what is the most reasonably priced hotel in the area with decent reviews. Sure would like to have you all join me there to tell tall tales in the parking lot and such frivolity. No room block or secret code for our group. Just make your own reservation. This will be gathering central although you are welcome to find something else if you are so inclined. Be sure to do your due diligence on less expensive hotels as there are issues at some of them. I would encourage you to make your reservations ASAP as the hotel will fill up quickly for that time of year. You can always cancel.

The rates vary per night (i.e. Thurs is lower than Saturday) but the average rate per night looks to be correct. You got a great rate to begin with!

Used the link and came up with the original rate and it applied the code... FWIW I originally used my Wyndham rewards account.

I was looking forward to this event. Fort Bragg is a fantastic place to ride with reasonable hotel prices. Unfortunately I am out. I will be on a motorcycle tour in Greece from May 17 to June 6th, so jet lag is a concern but beyond that this post is not about me but my wife.

She is scheduled for her 3rd shoulder surgery in 2 years on June 8th. There is a strong probability she will fall in to the group of people with failed rotator cuff surgery. She has pain about 30% of the time or one in three days. It is amazing in this day and age of medical marvels a tendon cannot be reattached or extended with a tissue transplant. My heart is sad.
