Ok I know this has been done before, but with all the talk about the latest farkles we have gotten etc, I figure we should have another thread to show off our gear too :)

Okay, at first I thought what a lame excuse for a thread, but after reconsidering.. its good to show that you SHOULDN'T feel odd about wearing some real gear. I can't quite make the high-viz leap though. :D

HJC IS-16 (new helmet in the last couple of weeks - love the features, a tad noisy)

Tourmaster Intake mesh jacket

Tourmaster Venture Air mesh pants/ Jeans

Held knockoff mesh gloves/Joe Rocket gloves

Technic Violator Waterproof boots / Some HD boots I got cheap.

90% of the time I'm in jeans/HD Boots but wear the rest. Any trip, full gear.

Other stuff:

Rain suit that I bought in an emergency :/

Techniche cool vest

Tourmaster Electric jacket liner.

This is for the 2 of us:-

Fieldsheer ballistic jacket

Frank Thomas Ballistic jacket

Joe Rocket ballistic pants

Frank Thomas ballistic pants - winter - all fully armored

First Gear mesh jacket and pants

Fieldsheer mesh jacket and pants - summer - all fully armored

Cool vest X 2

Icon Hooligan leather gloves - armored at knuckles and fingers X 2

Scorpion EXO 400 helmets (Octane and Tribal) X 2

Frank Thomas waterproof boots

TourMaster waterproof boots

We also both have Icon Field Armor that we rarely wear - we should more often.

ICON Field Armor = knee/shin guards and elbow/forearm = never leave home without 'em!

The elastic is crummy though, so you need to replace it with a good quality nylon fiber/with velcro.

Use your choice of pant.

Lots of gear to pick from, which I wear depends on the mood, the bike, the ride and the weather.

Icon Hooligan or Shoei Dualsport helmet.

Buff wrap

Olympia hi-viz lime mesh jacket or Icon armored leather jacket or six-six-one protector with jersey.

First gear mesh pants or Tourmaster riding pant.

Held gloves, with armored knuckles

Icon boots or Walmart military-style boots.

Still have a non-armored, fringed leather jacket

Leather vest

Leather chaps

3/4 helmet

Fingerless gloves

I have actually worn this gear to ride a motorcycle and it wasn't to a costume party either!

AlpineStars Bionic Jacket for REALLY hot days (or under a sweatshirt/jacket on cold days)

Vanson jacket (also lightweight) on those medium days.

Frog Toggs blue raingear (you can't miss a giant smurf on a motroccyle)

Army Issue Desert Boots.

Right now, just jeans, but draggin' jeans will be coming.

Fox racing motorcycle gloves

Icon? (forget the brand) Helmet with faceshield pinlock system (clear for night, put in a shaded one for the day)

Scorpion High visibility orange vest with some padding in back and shoulders always worn

Alexi

Helmet = Nolan N-102 or Shoei RF1000 (usually the Shoei when solo... the Nolan is wired for the intercom with the fearless pilion)

Suit = Aerostich Roadcrafter 1-pce (getting a bit worn, will probably replace next season... Darien?)

Boots = Altimate Apex (Canadian company, out of Toronto)

Gloves = Aerostich elkskin ropers

Other = Aerostich electric vest, Back/kidney support belt (on long trips), bike shorts (on long trips)

Methinks that's it

SWMBO wears

Helmet = HJC CL-Max (will soon be replaced by a Nolan)

Suit = Aerostich Roadcrafter jacket, Darien pants

Boots = Alpinestars (exact model unknown)

Gloves = unknown black leather gauntlet OR Widder electric gauntlet

Other = Widder vest, arm chaps, bike shorts (on long trips)

My set up:

Shoei with flip front. Alpine Stars mesh jacket/First Gear leather for winter. Force Field body Armour underneath. BMW summer II pants. BMW gortex boots. Held racing gloves or Alpine Stars W/carbon fiber knuckles, for hot days.

My gear setup is:

HJC CL-14 helmet (formerly with lady silhouette, now with reflective tape over her... )

Castle Streetwear Mesh jacket (with elbow and shoulder armor, back pad) /Wilson Leather motorcycle jacket (mostly winter use)

Blue jeans/Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0 pants (with knee armor, some padding)

First Gear mesh gloves/Castle Leather gloves/Tour Master Polar Tex (winter)

Some cheap Walmart 'Waterproof' military style boots (amazingly, the most waterproof boots I've ever had)

naked-motorcycle-riding-767340.jpg

HJC CL-Max, soon to be replaced with a Scorpion EXO-900.

Cooler weather: Fieldsheer Aqua Tour jacket in red; Aerostitch AD-1 pants.

Warmer weather: Tourmaster Intake Air Series 2 jacket; Tourmaster Venture Ait pants.

Fieldsheer gloves with Kevlar panels on 'em.

Or Cycleport BossAX gloves if I'm in the mood.

Sidi Tepor boots.

What's ATGATT?
In case you're not kidding Toe - All The Gear, All The Time. This means dedicated riding gear with armor where it needs to be, to include riding Boots with armor at the ankles and heels.

Note to the Some of The Gear, Most of The Time riders - hands and feet are difficult to repair. And Debriding screams will haunt you longer than the pain and trauma of skin grafts.

My gear -

Shoie Multi-tech helmet (next previous was an Arai Signet)

Darien Jacket w/Gerbing electric jacket liner when needed.

Joe Rocket Alter Ego pants

Oxtar Matrix boots, (same as current TCX X-Five goretex)

Rider Warehouse Elkskin gauntlet gloves/

Alpine Star armored short perf gloves/

Alpine Star thinsulate gloves/

Gerbing electric gloves

LD Comfort shorts

LD Comfort shorts
Oh ya, I forgot those. I bought them when they were clearing out the ..uh.. tights. Somehow I managed to order WAY to small tights. I can't wear them. The underwear was only one size to small. That being said, I'm gonna order another couple of pair in the correct size. They easily double my 'range'.

Oh ya, don't put them on in the dark before you ride from Sudbury to Wisconsin after getting basically no sleep. Every time I stopped for a whiz I couldn't figger out why I couldn't find the 'access panel' in the front.

Until I got into the hotel for the night and realized I'd been SITTING on the front access door the entire day.

My gear...since end of October, 2008

Tourmaster (Chinese made) Flex2 red jacket and black pants

underarmour shirt and pants

Held gloves - forget what model is named

Oxtar boots (water proof gym shoes really) - I tried a better zip up Oxtar boot but one ankle is much larger than the other due to a volleyball injury, so I needed something I could lace up

Shoei RF-1000 - Yellow

Gear -October 2006 to October 2008...

Joe Rocket jacket

Draggin' jeans

Held gloves

Oxtar boots

Shoei RF-1000

Gear - October 2003 to October 2006

Leather bomber jacket

Draggin jeans

Held gloves

Oxtar boots

Shoei RF-1000
