Had a Muzzy 4 -2-1 exhaust on a 2007,  thinking the same exhaust would fit on my 2016.  I just love the way it sounded.  Any one out there looking to sell one one?

I have one on my '05 and know how you feel about the way it sounds, the reduced weight and improved accel. Approx. 50K miles on the pipe, titanium can (QuietCore installed but also have unused power core) plus PowerCommander.

I've owned the bike since '05 and pipe since '07 (1st owner of each; both are in very good condition). NOT READY TO SELL YET, but when I do, I'll probably sell the pipe, extra core and PowerCommander separate from the bike. Not committed to selling either yet, but it could happen this summer, along with a smorgasbord of parts, accessories and farkles. We don't live far apart, and if you haven't located a Muzzy pipe by then (long out of production, they're hard to find), you might check in with me. Or, half jokingly: wow me with an offer I can't refuse?

I remember chasing Cdogman, a guy named Robin from SLC who had one of those, around our local roads at least 7 or 8 years ago.  It definitely had a cool note.  He'd ease off a lot going into every curve just so he could accelerate out extra hard and make it sing.

Rich, sell it to him.  Hell, you don't ride anymore at all, do you?  And BTW, speaking of Robin, remember escorting him from here to Donner Summit with MM2 on a slightly rainy day?

Yeah, Mike. Mary Ellen and I were recalling forum adventures and characters on the phone a couple days ago and I was describing how thoroughly wet we got escorting Robin to the summit. That was late 2010 or 2011. He'd crashed his FJR in '08, I think, and Tyler gave him her Triumph Trophy (after she got Spyder #1), which bike he was riding home to Utah. So mine was the only Muzzy on that voyage.

As to riding, I expect to have this move done by April and hope to get some miles in again this summer. If I find myself only playing golf, I'll sell the bike, farkles and accessories.

Well I guess I need to check back a little more often.    After the first coup[le of weeks I didn't think I would be getting any responses to this post.  So yeah, I miss the sound and the extra power.  I had it on an 07AE with a power commander and it ran extremely well.   Had ground clearance issues and modified the pipe slightly and then no more issues (the suspension work helped a bit to though).   I have a 2016A and was thinking about the Muzzy and probably a re flash through Ivan's.  That would probably wake it up a bit.  I will keep in touch and if the mood happens to shift and you decide to sell earlier hit me up.  Very interested.

Bob

Will do, Bob. Long story, but I've been doing construction tasks and moving from Grass Valley to Lincoln the last several months. Walk-through today with buyers of GV house, after which I will at least have everything in the considerably smaller Lincoln house that I haven't already tossed or downsized away. Final organizing to fit here and health care tasks are next in the process. Once that allows extraction of the bike from the garage, some spring riding should clarify the decision. If it's gonna be the end of my riding days, the Muzzy pipe & Ti can, Power Commander, Garmin 595 would be among the first take-offs in a defarkling process, not to mention Cycle Hill tire changer, wheel balancer and other FJR tools and goodies.

BTW, I never had to modify the pipe to fix the bottoming issue in hard compression corners, especially two up. It was fully remedied with a ride-in to GP Suspension; it never bottomed out after that transformative effort.

this has a Muzzy exhaust... hard to tell if its a full system or not...  https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/mpo/d/mill-valley-2006-yamaha-fjr-1300-parts/7287079983.html
Sure looks like a full system to me, and I just looked at mine on my '05 next to a couple of those photos. There is no cat and the collector is right where mine sits. These things are increasingly rare and his ad is for parting it out, so for those who want a sweet pipe, better jump on it quick.

Looks like aftermarket front rotors and rear shock, too -- might be worth inquiring about those, too.

Just sent an email enquiring about the exhaust, we will have to see what happens.  Damn I need to spend more time here , working way to much.

see if you can get the entire bike.  seems to be a bit of goodies on it.

BTW... he's a junkyard wrecker dude.... was a complete jerk to me when i messaged him.  good luck!

It ain't a Muzzy, butt the only other manufacturer I've found to do a full 4 into 1 for the FJR is Cobra Decat, gain flow 'n lose weight, 'n with a Ivan flash, should pep up the motor. :thumbsupsmileyanim:
