Stumbled across this on Yamaha's accessories page, under the section "Coming Soon" - (it seems to be under all FJR's but I admit I only checked my 2009 A model and the 2017 ES)
Only $119, looks pretty slick, but does not appear to be related to existing wiring under our fairings. Cheap alternative that seems to look good?

The ad says

Fits most motorcycles and scooters.

Does not fit: FJR1300, Super Tenere - XTZ1200 and Super Tenere - XTZ1200. -

Looks like a generic aftermarket part...

Well, there goes my reading comprehension pride.

(But in my defense, it is listed as an accessory for each and every FJR if you choose your bike and then search accessories.)

I guess this is just as interesting as all of the other 3rd party items they now sell through Yamaha.

I used this kit on my 05 and it worked great & looked great. I don't see the black switch option that was available when I installed mine.

i had those on my c14, they worked very well, and looked very nice. i sorta miss them, they were much easier to use compared to flipping through menu . but new just takes time to get use to. I do like the factory option to change the 1-9 for high med low, depending on ambient temp, gloves, . i also have been known to have them on simmer if my hand/wrist gets sore.

those look nice too, have you tried them ?? i have another bike that could use grip heaters

I would bet the disclaimer is because FJRs and Teneres have factory heated grips since 2013, and this wouldn't integrate into that. It would probably work with any models without factory heated grips.

I don't think there is room for the controller they show between the grip and the left hand controls on the bar. Would probably have to make some modifications there.
