Unconnected? Blue / white connectors front left side

Okay, totally new guy question, but I noticed tonight in my new 08 that there are two wires that terminate, one in a blue connector and the other in a white connector just below the front storage box near the front left fork. They look like one should be plugged into the other, but they are not. They just are kinda hanging there. Anyone know what these could be? For heated grips or something?

With absolutely no authority whatsoever on the subject, I'm guessing based solely on the location you are describing, they are for the factory heated grips that come on an AE.

Those connectors are part of the auto self-destruct circuit!

DO NOT CONNECT THEM!!!!

Or the whole world will blow up!

Thanks, that's what I had thought. Since I don't plan on ever getting heated grips, could I tie in my Zumo 550 power cord into those?

Never say never! Once you try heated grips, you'll never go back.

Kinda like saying you'll never buy a bike without a kick starter and with liquid cooling.
