Opened up this little baggy of parts that came with my FJR (trunk lock, etc) and found these three decals. Well, actually four decals, two large and two small attached to a card. Asked the dealer what they were for and he didn't know. So who better to ask than the Forum.

I've included a picture of said decals.

THOSE ARE ANTI-CHAFE TAPE FOR WHERE YOUR BAGS MAY CONTACT THE FAIRINGS. nEVER DID INSTALL MINE, AND TO DATE THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE.

The dealer put those on my bike and I wish he hadn't because they peel at the edges and look crappy from up close.

I cleaned the areas with alcohol before applying, and they stick real good. If you get sloppy when attaching the bags, you can easily scrape the paint without them.

They are there to wrap yer anus when you twist the throttle too hard...........

Thanks for the information about what the decals are for.

And thanks to "odot" for the advice on wrapping up ye ole anus!! I'll watch that throttle twisting more carefully.

:p It is true that most things are useful for more things! :p
