Greetings All:

Is there a problem with alternator whine being heard in the audio of electronics powered directly from the battery or the power plug in the glove box?

This is a most common problem on many vehicles including some old bikes I've had.

TIA.

not on my gen2, can't speak to gen 1 or 3 but haven't heard complaints here...

run all low level audio leads as far away as possible from ignition coils and fuel injector rack.

Let me clarify: I do not have a problem with whine 'cause I ain't hooked anything up yet.

I was just trying to get ahead of any problems that I have experienced in the past.

Oh, I am an E. Eng. so I do understand some of this electrical stuff...

Most importantly, run all audio grounds separately from any bike grounds, back to the battery negative terminal.

No, is the answer. The FJR seems less susceptible to audio ground loops and ignition noise, than many other bikes.

You know how to take precautions :D
