Over 100,000 is pretty good for a bike no one wants to buy. Found my poor little '08 straggler sitting on the showroom floor in '09 with a deep discount.

Doesn't matter what Yamaha calls it, the FJR forum admins have spoken.

I'm coming around to the GEN V concept and Yamaha's way of thinking. No matter what, it's another incremental improvement to an awesome platform!

From Yamaha Europe --
"2016 marks the 5th generation of the famous FJR1300. With over 100.000 units sold world-wide, the bike has been a remarkable success and Yamaha has once more meticulously developed it, keeping true to its original concept."

Decades ago we recognized this n the computer industry and named it, "versionitis". Vendors/publishers bump the version number primarily to antiquate the version sold the day before. It was laughable to see early Linux distributions boasting all the versions of packages bundled on the CD/DVD. It was their only hook to compete.
