reverse trike sportbike

Did anyone else see that reverse trike on the news. Big vtwin formula front suspension, huge single rear tire very low slung. Maybe not a true sportbike, but a very sporty trike. I believe they said it was being manufactured in so. cal. area.

i saw a stretched chopper with dual rear wheels... fat kind... maybe 16 inches space between wheels... kinda trike-like...

That looks like one of those crappy OCS customs

Bamfrank, very similar to what you posted in layout but no bodywork. Kinda like an exile chopper sorta, all business. probably a 12 inch rear rim, I believe it may have been a single sided swingarm. any the rider(driver) sat very low in the saddle behind the motor not on top of it. What impressed me the most was when the guy comes flying down the street at 30 or 40 mph and throws the thing sideways and starts doing donuts, the COG on this thing is so low it never even tried to pick up a wheel. I'll try and find some pics.

Main difference between the T-Rex and Bonmbardier is that T-Rex puts the engine behind the driver and the Bombardier seems to have it up front . . . and, one more thing. T-Rex costs about $40K and Bombardier less than half that - way too much for my taste.

I have a friend who owned a T-Rex (he traded that and his sailboat in for a country house when he got 'engaged' - we'll see who got the better deal in a few years). Indeed , they corner wickedly and spin impressively - but they are so low to the ground that you can't see them coming - not even the lights.

Oh, and because you sit IN a T-Rex, you'd better be on the slender side and not too tall.

Now that Maximizer looks fun! You can keep the 0 caster straight axle and other pseudo street rod junk though.

Ionbeam, that layout is very close. however this bike had all aluminum suspension upfront with laydown coilover shocks arranged in a cantilever position ala a fomula one or indy car. and I believe the fuel tank was probably under the seat. your chest was basically laying over the top of the motor and frame rails. handle bars were very low mount, and you are correct although it looks like great fun,I'd be very afraid of get run over literally.

Sorta off topic, but did anyone happen to catch a glimps of this on Speed last night?

Test rode this baby last month and it's really cool! Lots of power. Need a taller windscreen. It's also a little freaky to ride because it has linked abs brakes and NO front brake lever-only foot brake.

Since this has come up again, let me try another trike (this may be The One):



FWIW a couple of years ago I ran into a T-Rex while out on a ride-about and got to play with it for a while. Rex and I both had passengers, Rex also had a friend in a supercharged Midget MG(!) trying to keep up. Rex handles like a cat on a carpet, forget following it into corners It fractionally gives up power during WOT romps. There is certainly more storage. The Rex owner had farkled the heck out of his ride and his appearance work made the T-Rex look bad in a very good way. If the T-Rex was under $20k there would probably be one in my garage, however at the real world price of >$40k fuggettaboutit.

BTW, the MG was pretty cool too. The owner was having a problem keeping engines alive under pressure, and this particular motor was laying down a pretty good smoke screen. With some minor suspension tweaks and the low pressure supercharger, this was the little MG that could! While the driver was running 10/10 he was mostly able to keep us in sight. There was only one time where we had to stop and let him catch up.

$35K-$50K? Puulleeezzeeee, gimme a T-Rex if we are spending that kinda dough.

I agree the price is off the charts but the bike is cool
