Just an idea from me, who regrets missing this last year's EOM:
Maryland's Deep Creek Lake area would be nicely central and offer some of the best hills in WV, MD, PA, and even out to Appalachian Ohio. Plus it'd have the off-bike hotels and support the group looks for.
It's a helluva nice area for sure.

I've got a 400+ mile loop planned that way this season. Been wanting to go there since last year. Will have to this year.

Checks, if you have ideas & wish to take reins & plan a meet, EOM planning will be open to being snapped up in 2011. 2009 is covered & 2010 will bring NAFO2 into the eastern region. Both of these meet's have planners & have been been spoken for, already.
Sounds like good ideas, though.

Will we see you this year @ EOM?
I'd love to but our problem is traveling a lot on short notice for the job & I just suck at being reliable. I'd planned to be at EOM08 and ended up in SanFran while covering for somebody else who got a sudden assignment. But then I did get some days on the California coast, so I'm not complaining. I'm more than willing to help with '09 by taking on one of the functions or whatever, as long as stuff is not time dependant or it can be done by phone.

As for beers at EOM09, I already told our work "on call" planner that I'm not going to be available for a week at the end of the summer, so I hope so. Maybe an earlier ride too.

Are you planning that for 1 or 2 days?
That would be one day. Leaving Pburg to RedHouse MD, thru Deep Creek to Uniontown, back down into Hundred, ....I think I emailed myself a link of the map I did. 400 Mile Spring Loop
I like it, but it sure looks like a long one day loop. How long do you estimate it'd take?

Dave, when are you thinking of doing this loop? Looks like it might be a lot of fun. I would not mind joining in on this ride...let me know

Hmm...I may have to start my own thread on this. I will let you know when. I'm "guesstimating" in the neighborhood of 12-13hrs. I've done 520 of curvies in about 12 so I'm only speculating on the 12-13hrs.

Sounds interesting. Not sure I'd be up for all 13hrs plus ride time to and from, but I might join you guys if you do this. Let us know if you start another thread dude...

I live in northern VA and would really like to participate in a group ride. I missed 2008 because of work, but with some advance planning and a little luck, I think I coould make a plan and stick to it this year. The mrs isn't that in to riding along, but if there were other distractions (or relaxations) available separately for her (as I imagined there were during last year's gathering--spa treatments and shopping being near the top of the list), I'm in. If this could be the National thing to boot, that would be even better.

West Virginia, the site of last year, would work for me, but anywhere east of the Appalachians south of New Hampshire, and north of Atlanta would be good. Maybe once a site is selected a new threat should start so we can keep track?

Jon T, there are many group rides that happen in your area... & not just EOM. Keep your eyes on the "Regional Ride Planning" "SE" area for more information. Well actually, rides will probably be east or southeast of you. I myself do a lot of riding in WV & will be planning to visit said state this year. Probably many times.

Hey, that sure is a purdy '04 in your avatar.
