Someone getup on the wrong side of the bed, or being rude to other Members is something you feel your entitled to do?

Jim
Not at all and that wasn't close to rude. I just see these threads EVERY year and some folks mistakenly think it's somehow decided by casual talk in threads. And sometimes they become disappointed when their pet place isn't chosen because they posted about it once before. Just reminding people the process for WFO selection is way more involved than chit chat in a particular thread.

...and I do know of some of the shortlist of places that are being considered for next year...and they are cool. WFO-10 is going to rock. :)

...

....

Or re-read #6 for yourself. ;)

Here I had the purrfect place, Creston, Kali, and I wouldn't have to break my own damn CBA rules! Then Iggie has to go POP by bubble. Get it? Iggie-Pop? I crack me up..

I'd be willing to check out availability of accommodations and help with organization here is Bozeman if anybody would like that.

Fred
I'll say it a second time......

If somebody wants to promote having WFO somewhere....they would need to PM the rally master and convince HIM ...not this list. See post #2 of SOME of the things that go into WFO site selection. ;)

I find it strange how you read that Ignacio is being rude here... <_< I see it as factual.

Brother Don, You should have left that worm in your bottle of Mezcal last night! jes' sayin'

It seems a simple question, though not worded technically specific enough for this forum, blew up.

Oh well, at least those that commented were able to stand on their soap box and preach. I trust you all feel better now that it is off your chest.

The year WFO was in Park City, Utah seemed like a pretty central location with plenty of mountain roads in the area. It would seem that it's equidistant from most cities. I signed up and paid but had a work emergency that trumped the vacation. Just my 2 cents.

Did I hear someone say Red Lodge, Montana? Its not really centally located but it would be a great place to ride to and from. Anyway BTDT and for the flimsiest excuse I would have to go again.

Let the campaigns begin.

:yahoo:

BBQ
I did the long way to Eureka, thru Red Lodge Montana just happened it was Harley beer fest time, I was the only Japanese brand in 100 miles. I ordered a Pizza In. Bear Tooth and Chief Joseph Hwy gets my vote.

On second thought I vote for Kalispell Montana and the Glacier park area.

Thanks, Dan

Good suggestions on here. And in the meantime, we'll all try to sit quietly like a class of well-behaved little kindergarten students knowing there's a field trip but not daring to ask where because the teachers will chastise us for being impatient.

It's boring around here. We need new rumors for speculation. :)

OK. As the RM, I just gotta say that WFO IS NOT A RALLY. It is much closer to an event - a multi day tire kicking Ride to Eat. And Drink. And to socialize.

It's a time to put faces to names/avatars. It's a time to continue friendships, to make new friends, and to say "goodbye and we remember" to those that are on deep recon.

WFO is a time to gather together and catch up with each other. It's a time to get drunk if you want to, get crazy (not too) if you want, smoke cigars, eat pie, fondle sheep, ride local roads, tell tall tales, listen for your raffle number at dinner, etc., etc., etc.

It is NOT a rally. It is NOT a competitive event.

At it's simplest - it's good times spent with good folks. And that's why I and the rest of the WFO staff do it.

Ok - I'm done rambling. See you all next ......
Very nicely worded Hal. It can easily be seen why you were elected Rally master. What you describe above sounds perfect, with a little something for everyone. I like the idea of going to Creston too, but don't think that the management at the Hondarosa would be able to handle such an event.

I can see it now...

Camping at the Hondarosa Hilton for 70 some odd riders.
