Believe it or not, I am still here.

I have talked with Scott and Michelle and we are working on getting everything secured for SFO2011.

I am a little concerned with the current date posted.

Mothers Day is a tough sale.

That being said, I am working on securing a hotel on the weekend of May 20,21 and 22, in Russellville.

Currently waiting on a response from them.

Sorry for all the confusion.

More to come.

Mark

Why Russelville? We did this many times and being in Eureka Springs or near Jasper is mega times better.

When we stay in Russelville we usually end up riding to the area around Jasper. Why not stay there as planned on the dates planned?

Al and Renee

I like the idea of Jasper at the Hub, the only issue is The Hub is only available on Mothers Day Weekend.

My mother brought me into this world and gave me the oppertunity to ride my FJR, as well, my wife is the mother of my kids and she gives me the hall pass required to keep the peace around the household.

I have too much respect for both to not be there on the one weekend a year to honor them.

Several have requested that we move away from Eurika Springs and I tend to agree.

Russellville is centrally located and has several hotels to choose from and that gives me the oppertunity to negotiate a better price for the rooms.

Many factors need to be considered when putting this together and that is no easy task.

Either way we go, somebody will be unhappy, Greatest good for the greatest many.

I appreciate all the comments and suggestions.

More to come.

I've been wanting to go on a TBA since I first heard about it, but never can seem to make it when one is scheduled, including Mother's day if that's when it lands this year. So for what it's worth, my vote is for May 20-22. No opinion on the location.

Ok, now I am really confused. I was led to believe that Mark was in charge of SFO. I also agree that Mothers

Day would eliminate many potential riders. I have attended the last two SFO's, and I certainly plan on being

at SFO'11. Mark, name the place and time and I will be there!

I wanta go! I can just send my Mom a post card from the HUB for mothers day. Can't do that if I don't go buy one. That's sounds like a good time to do it. I hope my calendar is clear then. . It would be cool to meet some of y'all.

I received confirmation from the Hotel and everything is comming together.

The official web page will be posted this weekend.

The official dates are May 20,21 and 22nd.

The location will be Russellville.

Again, the Official Web Site will go up this weekend.

I will start a new post and put a link to the web site.

I have asked Scott to organize the Twisty Butt Ride, he has to check things out to see if these dates will work for him and he will let me know next week.

More to come.

Mark

I'll have to twisty butt another time. I'll happen to be in Kali that weekend.

You guys have a great meet...maybe I'l see AR in the fall.

Don't know if I'll make it or not. I have had plans for that weekend for quite a while. Seems like this gets later dates every year. It's starting to get pretty warm by then in the Dallas area. Looks to be 80 for an average high in Arkansas. I guess it depends on how much rain they will have that weekend. I do agree with Mark on the Mothers day thing though. Something I feel I need to do.

GP

Just checked the calendar and I can't make it this time. I don't have anything going on till May. Damn!

I didn't cancel my reservation for April 21-23 at the Hub.

Any interest in a SFO pre-ride?

We can make sure all the roads are in good order. Wear out tires all day, come back and drink, smoke, chew, fart, and tell lies...

?

Scott? (invite Phillip)

Mark?

Thanks for the update Mark. I'm supposed to work that weekend as well. Will see if I can get a switch. I was born and raised near Russelville and would encourage people to ride 7 south of Russellville. It's a blast all the way to Hot Springs, which is a fun town.

Petit Jean State Park is a fun ride from there with waterfalls and beautiful overlooks. The only bummer with Russellville is that it's DRY!! Stock up at Blackwell or Clarksville if you are on I-40. Also if you head west from Dardanelle, Logan County is wet, but the roads are a little more crooked and it's often foggy because of the lake. Even though it's less distance it's not less time.

The preride for the weekend of May 7th out of the Hub is still on as far as I am concerned. I think I could enjoy the Arkansas twistes for 2 weekends in May!

End of May huh? Could beginning to get a little warm by then. We've got a number of things on the agenda in April, don't know yt if we can take the time off yet.

A DRY COUNTY!!!! I guess we'll have to bring a trailer.....

looks like the 2nd year of both the

Wheaton's Second Annual Appalachian FJR Camping Meet, May 19, 20, 21, 22 at Murphy, NC

and SFO

scheduled the same weekend.

I know that was not the intent as events unfolded.

no critisism of the organizers, as it sometimes just ends up that way

decisions, decisions

I might be in. Have to check the calendar. Riding from Mobile to Russelville is about far enough to get the oil warmed up in the FJR.
