Hey all,
Got a problem.. I know I know, I shouldn't have done this but, was cleaning the bike and noticed some dirt around one of the three bolts that fasten the clutch slave cylinder to the engine block. Figuring I had a seeping fluid leak from a loose bolt I grabbed an allen wrench and...
Thanks for that analysis. I was test riding a K 1400 Concours and a 2013 FJR at around 45 degrees. At 6' 4", I did notice my knees a little colder on the FJR. I would love to ride the FJR year round up here in the Norh East.. Wondering, any ideas for an after market mod to increase the wind...
Anyone adjust the side ventilation panels on their Gen 3 fjr. Wondering if they will provide any extra wind deflection in the open outward position. I'm curious if they provide a warmer ride in the winter for your legs.. Thanks Dan
Guys,
I've been riding my 09 AE around South Florida for the past year with a +5H,+4W tinted rifle and not loving it.. Very barn doorish. I'm hoping a Cee Bailey flip would suite my 6'4" size better. Anyone in South Florida with a CB flip willing to meet up? I would love to check out how it...
Sorry about the confusion Mountain. When I posted #35 I should have quoted post #33 from fastpappy.
Tell you what,if there is anyone with an AE in the Miami FLL area, I'd love to meet up and compare clunks before I commit to the drive north.. Dan
I wish there was a way to compare other AE's to see if mine is normal. Dealer mechanics can't help since they have never seen one let alone work on one. Gonna call the one in Edison, NJ. Dan
Thanks > I'll definitely call them. Right now the bike is in Miami.. Bought it from a Tampa dealer.. Plan to ride it up to NJ next month stopping at Biktoberfest.. If I can't get past this, the bike is yours. Dan :)
Interesting. I normally come to a stop downshifiting to 2nd. Once stopped, I shift to 1st and sit in gear. I'll try going into neutral and back into 1st as a test. I don't wish to do this every time I stop. I've read about the clutch soak and the hydraulic bleeds. I've had the 600 oil change...
Great info...
..Makes sense. Slack in the drivetrain. I've noticed the thunk can also happen when rolling. For ex, when slowing down agressively, brake on, throttle idle, downshift to 2 or 3, then quickly twist throttle to accelerate, Thunk. Do you guys experience this?
wfooshee and...
Thats exactly what I'm talkin about! This limits my ability to jump off the line from a stand still without a thunk.Obviously with a manual clutch you can jump off the line with no problem. Wondering if this is a limitation of the design or needed adjustment or malfunction. Is there anyone out...
