    FJR1300 Air Wings (deflectors)

Just ordered a set for my '05. I did the heat mods listed elsewhere on this site and as long as I was living in Missouri that was good enough but now that I am in Florida I need a bit more. Hopefully they will be here within a week. Ordered the new style light tint. I am sure all the colors...

    Bent rims :(

on the highway while I was riding home from work and bent both my rims. The front is bent in about 3/16" on both sides and there is a "flat spot" along the inside of the rim (where the spokes would connect if it had any). The back is better, the rim lip on one side is rolled back maybe 1/8" of...

    FJR in 100+ temps

I would always park in the same spot at the old apartment back then. I had a few old pads so one I left in "my' spot. Eventually it sank in so it was about level with the blacktop. It was like having my very own custom bike parking spot. That was back in 87/88, I doubt it is still there but who...

Since it is hot as hell out, has anyone installed a cup holder?

I got myself one of them there fancy modular helmets and with the fairing up it would be easy to sip on something cold (using a straw) while riding but I can't figure out a good spot for a cup holder. Anyone have any ideas?

    FJR in 100+ temps

Heh, I remember when I used to live in Georgia how many bikers would carry an old brake pad on our bikes. Whenever we would park we would drop the brake pad and then set the kickstand on top. This would keep the stand from sinking in the blacktop. Anway, the heat mods work great. The heat is...

What did you do to your FJR today?

With both sides done I made a little road trip. Temp here is 99 right now and I gotta say these mods made a big difference. Still hot out but now my legs are just as hot out in the slipstream as they are tucked in. Quite the success. Now to insulate the tank.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Finally I get to add something here! Yesterday was the right side heat mod, this AM was the left side heat mod. Next will be a GPS mount. Maybe double deck the radar detector mount?

    Roadway FOD

I hit a deer two years ago on my KLR. I was going about 50 and it came out of nowhere (I guess they all do eh?) Somehow both me and the bike stayed upright, bambi went down. I pulled over to calm down and see what the hell happened. The only damage was my right cowling was missing along with a...

    FJR in 100+ temps

A quick question about the left side heat fix. The instruction state to remove the air director but in one of the pictures it shows part of it cut away. So, which is it? remove it entirely or cut it up and reinstall?

    FJR in 100+ temps

Not really, if I had a gen II I wouldn't want to ride it when it was hot... or cold... or much at all really ;) Also, could anyone direct me to a link showing these heat blocking mods? I gotta do sumthin'...

    FJR in 100+ temps

Rode the bike for a couple of hours today. Temp here was about 105* and it was damn hot. When I got home I got out the IR temp gun and took a few measurements. Fuel tank, 130* Grips/handle bars, 120* Frame rail under tank right by knees.... 155*!!!! Damn hot.

Add on gel pad for the seat

After an hour or two on the road butt starts to complain. I have heard gel seat pads work well and so far I see two options. I don't want to spend a few hundred on a new seat so I am looking at either having my stock seat opened up and a gel pad installed or something like this. So, anyone have...
