25 here when I bought the FJR. 26 when I sold her. :( I wish I'd of kept her, but I have a baby on the way and needed the extra cash! I did buy an FZ1 (paid cash for) which I want feel so bad about it being a garage queen....
I couldn't have let the bike go to a better person. This guy takes immaculate care of his vehicles as I do! He will get his money's worth. It still left me heart broken to see it leave. In all honesty, these FJR's are one of the finest motorcycle's made! I just could not justify the paying...
It's a sad day for me as I just let the feejer go. I sold her as my wife and I did not travel on it as much as intended and just could not justify paying the note and not using such an awesome machine. I want to thank the forum and everybody who has helped me with questions and problems I've...
I just used some of this stuff you recomended in my final drive and took my FJR out for a spin. Now the final drive sounds like an old bicycle chain that is rusted and hasn't been oiled in years. I used a handful of this stuff as you recomended. Do you think our hand sizes may be different...
I spotted an Feejer on my way to work this evening hitting the entrance ramp onto I-10 at 11th St. Just seeing if that was one of our members! Any takers?
Yes this forum is great! What's funny is I did check the tang over carefully, but after reading your post I checked it out one more time and found the problem...
:yahoo:
Gladly I double checked this again and indeed this was the problem. Put new bolt and nut on (smaller), which actually clears the throttle cable a little better, hooked everything back up and once the bike warmed up, normal RPM's! Success!!! :yahoo:
I'm Wrong!!! After double checking this again, it appears the first nut used maybe protruding past the throttle tang ever so slightly. I can't tell from looking if this is the cause, but I guess it doesn't take much of the throttle to be open to increase rpm's. hmmm... I'll post a pic in a...
Thanks for the reply. After searching around the forums a bit, I first thought this to be my problem b/c we used the larger bead chain bolt, but after carefully looking this end of it over, this is not the case. I also checked the to make sure the chain was not to tight. It has just a little...
Ok, long story short with the help of a friend we installed an AVCC recently. After the install we started the bike cruise control worked fine, but noticed that the FJR was idling about 1700 RPM's. The idle screw only was able to adjust down to 1500 RPM's. After getting home and taking it...
This is nothing new. The first time I pulled the plug and drained the oil, the threads come right out with the plug... Thank goodness it was covered under warranty. I had to call mamma yamaha and explain to them exactly what happened so they would actually believe me as they were going to...
I haven't been able to find the 3/16" check valves needed locally to keep the throttle body sync ports separated so I'm going to have to order them online. On one the install pictorial guides that's on the forum, he references these check valves in particular. Well, stupid me (probably reading...
