    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

Wow, some of you guys are amazing. I find it ironic that only a couple of weeks ago, a large group here was banding together and talking about class action lawsuits and letter writing campaigns to magazines and Yamaha with dire threats about doing something about the surging problem or else. I...

Apology accepted, Huck. Now don't you have a letter to write?

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

You know Huck you really have to stop making assumptions. It is almost as if you are trying to interpret my comments in the worst possible light regardless of the facts. I did not call him 100 times, 100 people called him from this board as a result of my posting his name and number here...

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

No harm no foul, Huck. By the way, I was the guy who turned us loose on Steve Hamilton at Yamaha Customer Relations (I published his name and number here and urged others to call him), I have thanked him profusely for his help to me and to all of us, and apologized to him for the 100+ calls he...

I'm with you on that sentiment. Dude, what is your problem? You want to write a letter, write one. I don't want to and I said so. Get over it.

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

And so it's only official if it shows up on Yamaha's special double secret registered TSB stationary? I thought so. Do you work for Yamaha? Sounds like it. It was not a specious analogy, if I go to a dealer and the dealer contacts Yamaha and he tells me Yamaha's position is so and so, that...

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

Wow, TruWrecks, I respect your contribution to resolving this issue but what's up with the personal attacks? You don't know me and apparently never will. Is this how you respond to everyone you disagree with? Am I pissed off about this problem and how it was handled? Yes. Am I attacking...

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

Which is why writing a letter thanking them for allowing us to encourage them to fix their defective product seems a little odd to me. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to a fix, and glad they fixed it. I just have a large difference of opinion as to who should be grateful to whom.

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

It is not the customer's responsibility to parse statements made on behalf of Yamaha into categories of tech support banter, customer relations fabrications, dealer blow-offs, service managers posting on this board, and so forth. If there is a Yamaha sign hanging from the building, or Yamaha...

And neither do you. I do know how most if us were treated and what the official response was, and that is what I was characterizing.

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

Part of the reason we got the impression Yamaha was not working on the problem might have to do with being told by Yamaha personnel that we were imagining it, it was internet hysteria, we were liars, and oh by the way give us 75/hr to ride your bike and no we can't reproduce the problem even...

    Letter of appreciation to Yamaha

I just got off the phone with Steve, thanked him personally for helping all of us out. I asked him how many calls he fielded on this, he said over 100. I asked him a few other things, basically the info we had last week regarding calling the dealer etc. has been superceded by the TSB. Maybe...

    FJRF004: The 2006/7 Altitude Fix

Warchild, Thanks very much for the info. This is what it took to finally get some action out of my dealer, after an entire summer of blowing me off. After calling him myself regarding the TSB, service manager called Yamaha, got the scoop, and ordered the new ECU. Maybe it was my imagination...

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

OK that is exactly what I was asking. Warchild added a new requirement, that the dealer had to call Yamaha too. So now I need to ask the service manager to specifically call Yamaha, and make sure they do it. I had told them to expect to hear from Yamaha, they said they had heard nothing...
