Did I blow my fork seals?

Update; I took the bike out for a while today and while the left fork stayed nice and dry, the right fork leaked more oil. Soooo... I didn't have the Sealmate tool yet, so I decided to use 35mm film (yes I'm old enough to have some old negatives sitting around!) Didn't seem like much dirt came...

2014 Red Yamaha FJR 1300 A in Woodinville, WA

No really, I saw it too! It's too bright of a red if you ask me. My 2007 is a nice dark red, that thing is practically neon!

Did I blow my fork seals?

Again, thanks for the learning! I wasn't aware of the role of Air/Oil in the forks. So cleaning the seal is what I'll do for now. I say the bike is riding fine, but to be honest it feels just a little bit strange at times. We have a freeway cloverleaf onramp that is a downhill decreasing radius...

Did I blow my fork seals?

Hey, thanks everybody. I had reviewed one of the write-ups but not the other, thanks! The bushing replacement definintely sounds a little tougher than just a seal & oil change. I think I'll try the sealmate and go from there. Thanks Ahchiu, I might try that at the next tech meet! One question...

Did I blow my fork seals?

On a side road, from 30mph I did a very quick stop when I realized I was about to blow through a stop sign (don't worry, nobody was behind me!). Got her stopped but thought I heard a funny sound from the front end. I wear ear plugs so wasn't sure... then I look down through the faring and saw...

    PNW Fall Tech Meet

Hi Gang, I'd love to see a valve check done (and maybe help out!). My bike doesn't need it yet but it's in my future! Hummm... what to do on my bike... can't think of anything in particular.

Hi Dennis & Leslie! So good to hear Dennis continues to improve. Merry Christmas you two! You know, if that left wrist still bothers you, they make an automatic FJR! (Just kidding  ) Dennis, we continue to pray for your full recovery and look forward to getting together with you my...

    PNW Fall Tech day

As one of the first-timers, this was an incredible experience! First of all, I got my bike in Bryan's garage first thing and George showed me how to do the TBS. Very easy when someone is helping who's done it before. In fact, after George left, I helped on another one... hey I'm an expert now...

    Sidewalk Sale at Renton Motorcycles

Thanks for the tip. I've been in the market for a good helmet and the RF-1000 is just the ticket. I bought two; one for me and one for the wife. I've been wanting to get a Snell rated helmet for a while now. I paid $150 for each which is an incredible deal! We also picked up a couple of coats...

    PNW Fall Tech day

I want to sync the throttle bodies on my 07. Can I get the address? I sure hope the weather isn't awful! I need to buy some tires soon as well. AuburnFJR, when we were talking down at Windy Ridge you had recommended some web sites for tires. Can you give me those addresses again? Thanks,

    Seriously Injured fellow FJR'er

Diana, thank you so much for your kind words. I know how you love your dad and how difficult it has been for you to see him injured like this. I’ve struggled to know how to respond to your post because (and I think I speak for Roamer as well) we sure don’t think of ourselves as heroes. We just...
