Yes, and no. I bought the Smuggler and rear rack used. The previous owner modified the Smuggler to make it work with the rear rack. As for the 'no' part, if you buy a brand new Smuggler, Corbin has said they have changed it and it works with that Yamaha accessory aluminum rack.
Nicely done homemade farkle! I don't love the topcase, but it does come in handy in certain situations. I mount it for my passenger when two-up, or when travelling and need the extra storage.

I am the opposite. I love the one piece suit specifically because I can take it off and have normal clothes for whatever activity. Go into a restaurant with jeans and a shirt. Wear shorts under it if you want. I live in Arizona and ride it in all types of weather. Above 90° it gets a bit warm...
I'm sure somebody has done, or attempted a repair like that but I have never seen it and it is going to be very difficult unless you really know what you are doing. Most folks would just replace the panel. The problem is, Yamaha most likely doesn't make new one's anymore.

That $15k is freaking awesome deal. Especially considering back in 2004 the 'A' model had an MSRP of $12,600. Depending on how much the '14 is, I would be all over that.
