Moto Marshal - Nature Valley Bike Races

I've decided to try my hand at being a motorcycle marshall at the Nature Valley Bicycle Races held around the Twin Cities from June 12-16. I spoke with a couple of guys who encouraged me to try last year. They liked my age (presumed maturity, I guess) the bike, and the fact I had an intercom...

Tickets for the world premier of "American Cafe"

I currently have 4 unused tickets to the long sold out premier of "American Cafe" at the Sundance Theater in Madison, WI. Showtime is 4pm on May 1st. Post up here if you are interested and we'll figure out a way to get them to you. I'd be looking for $8 each to cover my costs.

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

A summary of the original ride post, which I admit was kind of lengthy: May 1, Saturday 7:00am leave Machine Shed restaurant parking lot in Woodbury, MN 11:00-11:30am meet point at small park in Sparta, WI. (Hwy 16, 1/2 mile west of Hwy 27) (insert lots of cool twisties here) 4:00pm...

If anyone in Western WI is considering joining us, the meet point in Sparta will be a small park on Hwy 16, a 1/2 mile west of Hwy 27. To keep on schedule for the movie it'll be around 11:00-11:30am.

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

Geez guys, I'm feeling positively shunned. I'd be flattered by lame excuses at this point. Anyway, we're two weeks out on this ride, and so far it's just a couple of us from the north metro and 4 folks from the Milwaukee Ducati club. I thought for sure that some of you would want see of you...

Route reccomendations for July 4th weekend

I did that trip in 08 with my wife and a friend. One of our lodging highlights was the Twilight Resort in Montreal River Harbour, ON. It's a resort with cute little housekeeping cabins right on the lake. We were able to enjoy sunset from the porch of our cabin, cook a meal and take care of a...

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

Mike, we are still good to go. I'm going even if by myself, but hope you're still planning on it. I'm with you on this one though, I thought it was a great idea when I thunk it up and was hoping for more takers by now. Anyone else game? It should be a great time and the more the merrier, and...

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

Glad you can make it. It sounds like the movie has been very popular, as a second showing and party has been added at another theater. For now, we'll just say there are 4 tickets left.

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

I disappeared last riding season when the wife decided we needed to convert the deck into a four-season porch. I paid someone to do it, but even the miscellaneous side jobs sucked up my whole summer. So be careful with those time "demands".

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

Just a quick update on movie tickets. As of 3/13/10, 5 of the 10 tickets we purchased are available. I get one, and the Milwaukee contingent has spoken up for 4. Of course, people are more than welcome to ride along whether they plan to attend the premiere or not.

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

Yeah, I realize that I'm way out in front of this one, but the hotel is close to Leland and I was worried it would book up. Hope you can join us.

SCR and the premier of "American Cafe"

Now that winter is almost over in Wisconsin and Minnesota, I thought I'd try to beat Gramps to the punch and post the first ride of the year. I'm planning to meet up with an old high school buddy from Milwaukee for the spring Slimey Crud Run on May 2nd and was hoping some of you would want to...

    SCR Planning Advice

My buddy's Duc club likes the Holiday Inn Express in Verona, as thay organize a "Road to Verona" ride every year and stay there. I'm willing to conceed the point, but am worried about suitable "gathering" places. There's one bar mentioned on the hotel website, and I imagine that's enough...

    SCR Planning Advice

I just got off the phone with an old buddy from Milwaukee and agreed to get together for the SCR this coming May 2nd. Just looking for recommendations on hotels, retaurants, etc.. near Pine Bluff/Leland/Madison. Once we pick a hotel I'll probably post a ride to see if any Twin Cities FJR's...

Me too!!! Awesome video, thanks for editing and posting. Next ride I'll bring my secret Simple Green formula and I'll be your bug splat lackey. Free cleaning at every stop. It's the least I can do to help you preserve my memories!

    Puttin' the feelers out...

OK, someone's got to ask. Did any of the videos turn out? Hate to see that nice billet camcorder mount go to waste. It's just that, riding in the back like I was, it was really cool to follow that long line of bikes through the "S" curves, particularly through the left/right transitions (or...
