Is it ok to leave the battery out for a while?

I have an '09 (a build of 11/08) with the original battery in it. Well it charges up to 12.5 volts but doesn't start the bike, I pulled it out and ordered a new one from batterymart and will be here in 4-5 days. My question is will the bike (ECM, etc) be ok without a battery in it until the...

    FJRF004: The 2006/7 Altitude Fix

I have an '09 model, a few weeks ago I was up in the mountains about 6500-7000ft up and my bike ran terrible. It was hesitating and felt like it was missing or running with only 2-3 cyl firing. As soon as I got back down to about 5000ft it was fine. Anyone had altitude issues with a biker...

Foam located on inside of Fairing

Ok, I lied, the thinner pieces are there the thicker black pieces are whats missing. The thicker black pieces are what keeps heat from the driver I bet. Mine must have been built on a Friday afternoon and skipped during assembly. Now that the pics are here I know what to do, Thanks for those...

Foam located on inside of Fairing

Holy crap, I didn't have any of this under my fairing, is this for real? No wonder I've been feeling more heat than most folks, probably dampens noise too. Probably costs a fortune to buy it all too!!!

Foam located on inside of Fairing

The only piece of foam that was under my fairings was the one by the oil filter. I'd been complaining about heat at my right foot since I got my bike ('09 in '10)and someone here mentioned that the foam may be missing and that's why the heat on my right foot. So I bought some close cell foam...

    Radiator fin Comb or Brush

I use one of those cans of air, made for cleaning out your computer keyboard, to blow dirt out if the radiator after gently running the hose on it. Alot less pressure than using shop compressed air.

Arizona AZ Beemers Motorcycle Rally, May 18-20 of 2012.

Well I went to the rally, didn't see any other FJR's there. The weather was great, roads were great, campground sucked if you don't like riding/parking in the (soft)dirt. And, for the fee the food wasn't all that great nor were the vendors. Meeting up with friends made it worth while though.

    Yamaha Touring Windsceen

I use the Yamaha Touring shield but I put a 3/8 silicone washer under the lower bolt on each side (ala tuning block)to give it a little more slant back towards me. I can now hear my IPOD up to about 70mph, no buffeting and not much flexing either. Also, with the short screen I used to raise it...

    Ridding comfort (seats)

Not quite, I have about $275 tied up in the seat, Russell is like $700-800 I think. Also, I move the airhawk and sheepskin to my other bike so it works out well for me.

    hand cramp.

Heli-bars and MCL triple tree both move the grip angles out, the MCL one more. I use the MCL version. I also put on throttlemeisters, I turn them on just enough to cause friction this helps hold the throttle in place. This really helped me on long rides, I turn it off on shorter rides or...

    Ridding comfort (seats)

I have this issue also. What I've done so far is the Spencer rebuilt seat ($75 I believe it was) helped alot but not perfect, added an Alaska Sheepskin again helped but not there yet, now I've added a Airhawk R uder the sheepskin. The Airhawk R has a channel down the center, this relieves...
