"Cycle Gear" now open in Cleveland

We have gotten some great deals at the MotorcycleSuperstore Outlet. On one trip in Sep 2012, the wife got a Rev'it jacket (retail $450), me a pair of Alpinestar SMX 5 boots (retail $215), Alpinestar GP1 gloves (retail $120). Well we were talking to one of the guys working there, who ended up...

    SE Ohio Ramble - 2-4 May 2014

I might be able to go but it depends on if I find a job by then. I thought that after working 84+ hours a week for 2 1/2 years I would welcome this time off but I don't. I need a job. So if I find a job here in the states by then, then I'll be able to go. If not then regardless how the wife...

"Cycle Gear" now open in Cleveland

The wife and I went to Louisville this past weekend for Motorcycle Superstore Outlet store sale so we stopped by the CycleGear store also. They had one Dianese jacket in stock and everything else for men was BiLT. Overall the store was stocked 98% BiLT gear. I won't be going back.

When to Tires go on sale?

For the past four years I kept a spreadsheet and checked prices twice a month from 6 different stores. I found that tires where cheaper in November-December so I've been buying tires then and keeping them in the garage till I put them on the bikes. Prices tended to go up around the end of...

"Cycle Gear" now open in Cleveland

Yes they do carry it on their website but if you ever go to there stores (I've been to Louisville and Knoxville) you won't find hardly any of it actually in the store. The whole reason I go to stores is so I can try it on and look at it before I buy it.

"Cycle Gear" now open in Cleveland

I used to shop at Cycle Gear all the time since I could shop through AAFES and save on not paying taxes and no shipping cost but when they switched over to carrying mostly their own store brand BiLT I've stopped shopping there.

    It's been awhile!

LOL! I AM looking forward to riding. I wrote that after a night of no sleep. I guess I should of proof read what I wrote BEFORE I posted it.

    It's been awhile!

I haven't been on here in awhile since I really hadn't anything to comment about. I left for Iraq in August of 2011 and didn't come home till August of 2012. I retired at the end of September 2012 and left for Afghanistan on October 7th to work as a military contractor. Well, I came home this...

    It's Been Awhile

LOL Well, I wasn't firing the recoiless rifle. The U.S. hasn't had it in their inventory since Vietnam. The Taliban use a Russian made 82mm one. Now for how I chipped my teeth, that is a funny story. We had just came back from a Afghan National Police compound where we were interrogating a...

    I miss my FJR

I don't see the reason why your wife couldn't ride 2-up with you on the FJR? My wife does, or did, before she got her own bike. Lots of others on here ride 2-up. Why can't you go back to a FJR?

    It's Been Awhile

Unfortunately, not yet. I had to fly back to the States last March to get my front teeth fixed. I chipped them after getting blown up by a recoiless rifle round. When I come back this time I'm going to be reassigned and don't know where I'll be going. I'm looking for a job stateside but all...

    It's Been Awhile

Thank you everyone. I need to update my picture. I retired, again, last year after I came home from Iraq. I'm over here in Afghanistan as a military contractor. I'm doing the same job over here that I did while wearing the uniform. We have two friends (husband/wife) who are going to ride up...

    It's Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I've been on. I'm over here in Afghanistan but in a week I'll be heading home for vacation. The wife and I have a short 3 day trip planned during the 12 days I'll be home. We are going to be riding down to TN and thru the mountains to see the color of the leaves...

Looking to get a new GPS, what do you own?

I used a TomTom One for years. I kept telling myself I would replace it when it died. Well it no longer worked if it wasn't plugged in and I even left it in place when it was pouring rain even though it isn't waterproof but it kept on working so finally I bought a Garmin 660 to replace it. I...

    FJR Loyalty

I'm like you. I want an Adventure bike but I wouldn't give up my FJR to have one. Right now I also have an Aprilia SL1000 Falco. I love that bike but I wouldn't keep it over the FJR either. I want to add a dual sport and a Ural to the stable next. Each bike has it's own place. Since the day...

Dump your bike for a woman?

Well I'm on wife number 4 so I obviously don't put up with any shit from a wife. They ARE replaceable, and they get younger each time. The wife now knew I like skydiving so what did you do? Jump out of a plane with me. She knew I liked playing golf so she learned. She also grew tired of riding...

Bought a new BMW GTL today

Congratulations on the new bike. I've been thinking of selling the FJR and getting a BMW K1600GT. Given the cost I'm leaning towards a new FJR instead. I'm interested in hearing your opinion comparing the bike against the FJR.
