Installing All Balls Racing Tapered Steering Head Bearings

I have a socket I made if you're interested. Just send it back when you're done.

Installing All Balls Racing Tapered Steering Head Bearings

I would have preferred Timkin if I knew it was an option. Great to hear that the All Balls stuff is garbage after putting it in about 15k miles ago. At least I've acquired a press since then.

    Seats and seat covers please?

I'm not quite ready to pony up for an $800 seat, but I'd definitely add one to the wish list. My main concern after seeing the wings on the Russel is if it effects aggressive riding. I don't get off the seat too much, but sometimes it's nice to move around.

    Can't reset engine code

Well, you didn't misunderstand my statement, but I couldn't for the life of me understand why the O2 sensor would be under the tank. I read a thread somewhere that someone was obviously speaking about the plug, but didn't specify, and they said it was under the tank. I searched for the location...

    Can't reset engine code

Awesome. That makes more sense- I've never seen an O2 sensor in the airbox. Will check this weekend- I forget that for a big bike, it still isn't too hard to get under the tank.

    Can't reset engine code

Was hoping that I was just missing something in the reset sequence. Didn't really want to take the tank off. It is under the tank, right?

    Can't reset engine code

During a quick run a couple weeks ago, my check engine light came on. I checked everything over and made sure it was ok, then headed on down the road. Since then I've found out about the diagnostic mode and read lots about resetting the code. However, I'm unable to reset the code on dl 62. 61...

In Search Of: The Perfect Windscreen

We have been in the upper 90s for over a week here. My +4 +2 CB is ok, I honestly don't think more air flow would help when it's this hot. I actually tried putting the screen up on the way home yesterday to block the hot air from hitting me- it feels like I'm standing in front of a blow-drier...

In Search Of: The Perfect Windscreen

I just got a Cee Bailey +4" tall +2" wide for the same reason. Haven't had a chance to get her on the back yet, but I'll try and let you know. She's 5'7" or so, so I'm hoping this will help. We have a nice UClear comm system we can't use above about 60 with the stock screen.

Installing All Balls Racing Tapered Steering Head Bearings

Just tried to install the bearings on my 07, but the lower steering stem bearing split apart on me, even though I was using the old race and some hard plastic sleeve to drive it on. I heated the bearing and froze the steering stem.... Extremely frustrating. Need to get this nack together ASAP as...

At the angle this screen is as, and as large as it is, I'd believe it.

    Spanner Wrench for FJR

Alright- try this: Socket Template "Fingers" are only .250 wide, dropped for a bit of clearance. Thanks again Fred!

I have a .pdf to scale of the nut if someone could tell me how to share it on here.

    Spanner Wrench for FJR

Gary- Your link doesn't work, but I would be very interested in what you have to say. Already have a 1 1/4 socket I want to cut up, so I'm a little late on that. Phil- THATS the thread I was looking for! Thanks!

In Search Of: The Perfect Windscreen

Good to know. I assumed Yamaha had done their job well, but with as much area as these shields have and the velocities these bikes are capable of... that's a lot of force. Looking into the Cee Bailey.

    Spanner Wrench for FJR

Wow- apparently my notification feature isn't working that well. Didn't think anyone had responded! I bought a 1 1/4" extended socket to cut down because I read that would work, but now I lost the thread that someone sketched out the castle nut dimensions. Yamafitter, that might have been from...

    Spanner Wrench for FJR

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I can't seem to find this tool anywhere- ebay, amazon, etc. Would someone be willing to let me borrow theirs, or know of a good source for one?

In Search Of: The Perfect Windscreen

I have been running the stock shield, which is a joy for me since I've never had a bike with a usable screen. I have noticed that if I have the screen all the way up and duck down about 1-1.5" I get into a completely calm pocket of air, but feel pressure on my back pushing me forwards. So, I am...

How to get the right stroke (TDC) on crank while cams out

Got the bike buttoned back up... trying to get it re-filled with coolant. I did find a really nice way to put the CCT screw back in- I had one of those extendable claw things (since I threw the bolt into the frame trying to install it by hand) like this-...
